Hello! Has anyone tried on the “Starla” gown by Sottero and Midgley?? I really love the “Gracie”, but have not tried on the Starla yet, but love it in photos. Let me know… Thanks! Also, if anyone has fallen in love with any other ball gowns with great detail in the skirt, please post.

I’m bumping this. I already bought my dress, but I really wanted to try on the Starla. I wouldn’t mind seeing it on a real bride.

I thought it was beautiful too. Would love to see a real bride pic.

I have an appointment later today at a bridal store that *might* have it! I will let you know.

Update: Tried it on today. The store would not let me take photos, but I didn’t really like it on me anyway. I didn’t love the beading, the bottom was a bit “big” and it it just didn’t look right on me. Could be very pretty for a winter wedding though! The fabric was not quite as comfortable as most Maggie gowns.

@trendytay:
hey what do you mean by “The fabric was not quite as comfortable as most Maggie gowns.” was it easy to walk in the dress, is too poffy
I’m thinking of ordering this dress online, and ship it internationally to Egypt, so I would appreciate it if u elaborate more about ur appointment 🙂

@Maioza:
The fabric was a bit itchy, but it was much more lightweight than the other gown I like (Gracie). It was easy to walk in, but still had quite a “poof” factor. Otherwise, it looked exactly like it does on the website 🙂

I am a bit slow to respond but I recently tried on Starla and I loooooove it!! It is certainly the gown for me! I am a size 8 and it is exactly what I wanted for our winter wedding! The skirt is ruffled with tulle–most Maggie gowns are made of organza so the texture is a bit different and not as soft but I think it adds a very fairytale – esque element! The dropped waist combined with ball gown creates a lovely silhouette, very flattering but still whimsical! The bridal shop I was at also would not allow photos but I certainly suggest tracking it down in real life! I don’t think the photos of the model at sotteroandmidgley do it justice! 🙂

Yes, I tried it on with a “headband”. I loved it but am still on the fence about it. It’s being shipped at the end of the month so we’ll see how I feel then.. I could always use it for what it was meant for.. lol!!
Don’t you just love her though??
