I don’t think it’s tacky. Honestly, flowers are EXPENSIVE! And they die! My close friend who recently got married made herself a gorgeous brooch bouquet from brooches her many aunts had given her, so it also is a piece that has sentimental value and will last forever. It was beautiful. She offered to make me a beaded bouquet (like the one here: http://offbeatbride.com/2009/03/wedding-bouquets), and I’m going to try to do similar small ones for my BMs.

My bouquet will be about $150 and the bridesmaids will be about $65 each. Out of curiosity, whats tacky about your post?

I did my own flowers. I used fifty flowers, the flower exchange and american floral distributors,

Edit; I spent $500 and made my bouqet, 5 bridesmaids bouqets, 4 boutinieres, 4 corsages, and 4 mother’s bouqes.

Don’t worry about “tacky”.  We talk about how much things cost a lot here.

I’m not exactly sure how much the individual bouquets cost, because I DIY’d flowers that we bought from a local wholesaler, but I spent $430 on ALL my flowers.  My bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 2 alter arrangements, a cake table arrangement a toss bouquet, 4 boutonieres, 4 corsages and 10 centre pieces.

I plan on making my bouquet and don’t expect to spend more than $25. I’m going to have a simple red rose bouquet and I could do that myself with no problems.

We’re still undecided about boutonnieres, but even if I do, it shouldn’t cost me more than $20 total to do 4.

My BMs won’t be using any bouquets, but instead will be using clutches.

I’m using silk flowers for my wedding and I’ve purchased all my flowers! I spent just under 200 for flowers which will be for:

  • My bouquet
  • Maid/Matron of Honor bouquet
  • Bridesmaid bouquet (1)
  • Mothers corsages (2)
  • Grandmothers corsages (3)
  • Grooms boutonniere
  • Best Man boutonniere
  • Groomsmen boutonniere (1)
  • Fathers boutonnieres (2)
  • Grandfathers boutonniere (1)
  • Boutonniere for my brothers (3)
  • Flowers to put around my cake
  • Flowers for my centerpieces (only using 2 or three for each)

I purchased all my flowers from Alfloral.com.
