Yes!!! I live in an apartment and my nextdoor neighbor has a baby that cries and I can ear it ALL THE TIME. The guy upstairs plays music IN HIS BEDROOM DIRECTLY ABOVE OURS at like 11pm-midnight. I wake up at 5:30 for work, bitch. Ugh, I’m with you on that one! I can hear them talking. I can hear him chopping food in his kitchen. lkasjd;flajksd;flaksjfd!!!
Yes! Headphones! There are people on campus that do that all the time and I think “Seriously, we can hear your music, what’s the point of you even wearing those?”

People chewing. Especially gum. I honestly wish gum would disappear from the Earth and never return. Ever.
I also hate the sound of people swallowing liquid loudly. Like that chugging sound. Yuck.
Also, just repetitive noises in general. My husband plays the drums (totally fine!) but when he “drums” on his stomach or legs I want to punch him. If he does it on my legs I can handle it. Something about being able to feel it makes the noise a little better.

Styrofoam. Like, when you’re messing with it and it squeaks. Omg, it gives me the chills just thinking about it. Same with squeaky balloons.

We have a neighbor with a baby, oddly that doesn’t bother me (the baby criees a LOT, I think she’s a little late on the talking train)
I do have a downstairs neighbor who listens to mumbly television shows all the time
. Like 6pm in bed, TV on. 6am, wake up, tv on. We usually play music to drown it out, works pretty well.
It wouldn’t bother me so much if she didn’t try to intimidate us by BLASTING her TV when we first moved in… because one day she came upstairs and asked us to “stop walking at night” (meaning past 6) or else she’s have to turn up her TV I kid you not
We didn’t (hey I live here too) so she turned up the volume. It’s better after I called the landlord on her (it was so loud one night I thought someone had broken into the apartment… nope! Just her tv!). But yeah, talk about TV noises hahaha

Children screeching, screaming, whining, crying, and being loud. That irks the crap out of me. I also hate how kids make sounds just for the sake of making sounds. Like, “La ah ba ja ka boo” blah blah blah. It’s like they just love hearing themselves make sounds. STFU!

Lol, see I can’t do that because I try to go to bed around 10 since I get up so early. We have a box fan that we have ghetto-ly hung on the wall (we can’t install a ceiling fan in our apartment), and even that won’t drown out the music. It’s soooo irritating. XD I used to live upstairs from someone whose TV was always too loud, it drove me bonkers trying to sleep. Urgh.

@MammaPants: YES! I can’t listen to people eat or drink loudly. Gulping, chewing with the mouth open so I can hear it, slurping, that sort of thing.

YES!!! The chewing and swallowing… They make my physically angry!!!! Also, people who’s jaws make a popping noise when they eat. Forget about it.

Cracking knuckles, ugh, I hate that sound. Dentist drills, yikes.
I hope I don’t sound mean but I hate the way one of my co-workers laughs. It’s very loud and obnoxious and fake sounding. Sometimes I want to slam my door shut until she stops laughing, lol.

Lots of sounds annoy me! Frustratingly the two sounds that bug me the most are ones that can’t really be helped…eating and coughing!

People sniffing in… and I don’t mean a casual little sniff – the repeated sniffs where it is so sharp and abrupt that it makes you cringe! Unfortunately Fiance has tourettes and somehow switched from soft grunting to doing this almost twice a minute! It drives me up the wall some days!
I also hate listening to the sounds from peoples computers, even if they are playing a song I like or an interesting video I would watch – it just completely irks me. There are some days where I want to just walk over and give them my headphones and then glue it to their computer! They never think that no one wants to hear that home video of their children making strange shreaking sounds!

The sound of people touching cardboard or cardboard rubbing against cardboard. This also applies to construction paper and dry wood like paint stir sticks. All of it is just wayyyy too dry sounding and feeling and gives me shivers aha.

I can’t stand synthesised, electronic dance music. In fact most noises annoy me..

there’s a woman in my office that cackles like a witch. And she’s quite loud about it. Everyone
cringes when she laughs. She’s so nice though, which makes it worse.

OMG, there’s someone who goes to the same grad school I do who has that same kind of obscenely loud, obnoxious, fake-sounding laugh. When she laughs, you can literally hear it throughout the ENTIRE building. I find her annoying as a person, but when she laughs she becomes 10X more annoying for a few minutes. . . oh dear!
