Im assuming if you schedule her as freelance she would come to you and you would not have to go in the store for an appointment.  Its more money because she wouldnt be getting paid that day to work but only getting $$ for working with you.

I have not personally had my makeup done by someone from a MAC counter, but the girl that did my makeup used to work for MAC.  If you feel more comfortable going with a company, I highly recommend Something Blue Stylist (Andrea is the owner and does hair and makeup, Shayna works with her and did everyones makeup).  They are amazing and their cost is VERY low.  They travel to where you are also.  Check them out at somethingbluestylists.com

I think 250 is too much.  Have you shopped around? My best friend got married in January and she had a makeup artist come to the location where we were getting married.  We each payed about $110 for our make-up.

I’m paying that for both hair and makeup with Susie Chuor.

Unless your in love with her work, i would suggest to keep looking…

I recommend Karis Staley — she’s based in Huntington Beach and can do hair and makeup. She is AMAZING and her prices are really, really reasonable. I believe her package for hair and makeup is about $200 and she’ll travel to you.

We brought her to our wedding in Akumal, Mexico at the end of June and she did the hair and makeup for 10 of us ~ she was fabulous and everyone absolutely LOVED her work!!!

Her contact info is on project wedding at the following link: http://www.projectwedding.com/vendor/show/karis-staley

That’s VERY expensive.  I hired someone to come from Los Angeles to San Diego for my morning wedding and it was $350.  That included hair extensions and makeup.

This is what my hair looked like on the day of the wedding.  The girl who did my hair’s name is Annie and she was amazing.  You should have seen my before and after.  You wouldn’t even be able to recognize me.  She even put on fake eyelashes too, which are nice.  She works at Oscars Wedding Group in Temple City, CA.
