I went to Jay West in Haddonfield NJ and had a good experience.  Very boutiquey but had things in my $1,000 price range.  I bought, but I’m selling it if you’re interested!  Sincerity 4540, google it 🙂

I went to Claire’s Boutique in Wilminton, DE.  I am telling you, it is so worth your time.  There was no time limit and very, very attentive.  She only carries 3 designers, and not one dress was over $2000, that I saw anyway.  They carry all sizes up to a 30.  There was a ton of dresses to choose from, and after going to DB and being frustrated, it was a huge relief to go there.  And, yes, I found my dress there.

I too had a great experience at Claire’s and purchased my gown there this past weekend. My consultant was Kaitlyn and she was fabulous!!

@helena31:  I have no idea who my consultant was.. isn’t that horrible ???  At one point, she said she told her mom if they were going to do gowns …. so I am assuming it was Claire’s daughter ??  I don’t know, however, it was FANTASTIC !!!  I loved the idea of looking through the binder for dresses and not having to go through each gown.

I’m a 16 too! I have yet to find a salon in Jersey with a huge selection of plus size dresses. Boo. We’ll keep looking… Our “one” is out there!

I went to Alfred Angelo in Cherry Hill, NJ. They had TONS of sample sizes. I recommend them to everyone I know. I had such a great experience!

I didn’t actually do any of my own dress shopping in South Jersey, but a few of my bridesmaids got their dresses from Alfred Angelo, and I think the saleswomen there are AWESOME.  They always were so friendly and helpful.  I’ve also heard great things about Irma’s in Cherry Hill. Good luck! Can’t wait to see what you choose!
