whatever you do, DONOT go with Iconsphotography! Save yourself the time, frustration and disappointment. His unprofessionalism caused many sleepness night and finally with less than 2 months until the big day we fired him.
however, i was lucky enough to find another photog. check out brian khang @ briankhang.blogspot.com he’s recently moved to socal and has amazing rates. his top of the line package is an amazing $2,600 (assistant, 10 hrs of shooting on day of, engagement session, all images on disc, slideshow, and a 50 page album). i’m pretty sure this will not be his rate for next year. all the above listed photogs are great as well
good luck with your planning

So I got Nataly Lemus’ name off this board. I loved her photos. I contacted her a month ago, she said she had my date available, and we set up a time to meet…I threw out several dates, and she picked this Saturday, 3/22 at 11am. I get a message from her at 8:30AM telling me she booked my date last night AFTER confirming with me on THURSDAY that we were meeting.
Personally, I think that’s incredibly unprofessional. There was no ‘hey, someone else is interested in your date’, no ‘would you like to meet earlier’ just a mesage that said ‘sorry. I booked your date last night. I know we were meeting today, but it happened last night.’
As my fiance puts it, better to find out about her unprofessionalism NOW then our wedding day.

My budget is much smaller than yours for photography — $2000 total, so we went with an all digital package. Our photographer is John Kornachuck of http://www.theweddingphotographer.com. He would easily keep you under $5000 and you would get a lot for your money! However, he is an artist, so he comes off as being artsy, not a business man. But I would rather have an artist taking my pictures than a business man. I liked the way he walked me through my wedding and the shots he envisions and then he told me to write down what I envision. Our engagement photo session is April 6th and he is traveling to UCLA to do it for us.

I just sent an email to Jonilyn inquiring about her packages and pricing. My fiance really loved her work as well as me maid of honor/best friend. So we’re realling thinking of getting her for an engagement session sometime this year. Can’t wait for her response!

I am useing Andre Niesing for my August wedding. He shot my friends wedding and did a beautiful job. My entire wedding is outdoors, so I wanted someone who was good with landscapes and with color. I know somepeople are all over B/W – but I love color!

Boldkira, I’m so sorry for all your problems with Nataly Lemus. I was thinking of using her, but you are now the second person I have heard question her professionalism. I hope it’s just a fluke thing since I felt like the future hubby and I had found a good photog in our price-range. I guess we’ll keep looking….
Good luck with your next photographer!

I just want to second that comment about Brian Khang (www.briankhang.com)
Although I’m already married, had I known about Brian back in the day, I would’ve booked him for my wedding, no questions asked! I first came across Brian when my friend from back East used him for her wedding. Her album was just beautiful -seriously brought some emotion/tears to my eyes. Apparently he’s been shooting for a couple of years, but since he’s just moved here to So Cal within a year ago, his rates are still very reasonable, even though his work far exceeds his rates! I agree, I don’t think his rates will stay this low for long, so you better jump on the bandwagon soon! I’ve also met him a few times when another one of my friends booked him for their upcoming wedding, and he’s just such an easy going, fun, hip, spunky kinda guy…gotta meet him to believe it. 🙂
I know it’s so hard, with the bazillion photographers out there, but why not at least check out his blog?:)
