So My Mother agreed to pay for the venue, and found an ADORABLE little wedding chaple. Ok think of the Dixie Cups song “Going to the Chaple”. Now the imagine you’ve come up with of a little white chaple? Thats pretty much it. Or if you’re a Rocky Horror Picture show fan, Brad and Janets Chaple. Just..absolutely adorable…
Anyway…this is the perfect excuse for me to wear a pretty tea length dress and colored crinoline.
For favors, I’m thinking Glass bottle coke! with a little tag saying thank you and the wedding date….super cute. Maybe those swirl red and white straws….
And maybe lace edge handkerciefs for my BM’s and our Moms and grandmas?
I’m thinking good church picknic food for the dinner. Fried chicken and salad…have to have the jello salad too…I’m mean you just cant not have that. And maybe mini pies instead of cake for everyone…and we can have a little cake to cut..like a two tier.
What do you ladies think?

That sounds adorable and cute!

And yes. I’m still gonna have a bouncy castle if the chaple is okay with it.

I love the Coke bottle idea. How unique!

Sounds fun! How about pinwheel bouquets? BTW-Costco sells Mexican coca cola sometimes by the case, and it’s great because it is made with sugar not high-fructose corn syrup!

I like it all except the handkercheifs….I guess I don’t quiet see the use in them later.

I love it all, it sounds so retro/vintage-y and cute and sweet!

That sounds really nice! Maybe you can get all your women guests to wear hats like back in the old times…

OMG! I love the retro feel! We did a pseudo-1950s feel at our wedding.

OMG….I’d love it if I could get the ladies to wear pretty hats. Hmmm…I bet I can at least get the BMs and my mom to go with it.

SO dislikes all those ideas. Apparently because of our crazy ex roommate who idolized betty page, he now dislikes all things “retro”.
Even though when he met me I was a part time alt pin-up model.
I asked him about his ideas for any wedding stuff
“Well you vetoed dressing up in anime styles clothes and having nintendo cupcake toppers”
“Wait, you were serious about that?”
“Kind of. We’re gamers”
“I’m not sure how I can make that classy, and I dont want to look at our pictures in 20 years and realize we looked cheesy as hell.”
“Then why dont we go back to you planning everything and I just show up? It’s your day.” (that was his origional idea)
Guess it’s time to have a big talk about it being OUR wedding day and not just some female indulgent fippery.
