We’re going the traditional route and getting them frames and then ordering wedding pictures to go in them. The frames I’ve been looking at are around $100.

We’re going to make snapfish photo albums for them, and larger prints of one or two photos.

Oh- AND personalized playing cards, with pictures from the wedding on them (both sides love to play games.) So these are all post-wedding gifts.

I was going to give them photo albums as well- I was thinking of writing a sweet letter and giving an IOU card for a photo album.

@WillyNilly:  You could do what Mrs. Mole did and take a picture of yourself saying I.O.U. in a cheap frame?

We ordered both sets of parents a blanket from Photo Weavers of one of their wedding pictures. I found a groupon so we got them for a great price. They also came so fast. I ordered one on June 30th and I received it on the 7th, I was very impressed that we got them so fast witht he holiday. Also the quality is fantastic.

We might also purchase them a bottle of wine.

We are doing photobooks for the parents as well. In order to give them something tangible at the rehearsal dinner, we gave them gift cards for dinner and amazon (for his parents) and dinner and a movie (for my parents). That was $50 each, so at least they got something. They were SHOCKED with that… wait till the get the books. They both had NO IDEA that they would get more than a verbal thanks.

We had photobooks made from our engagement pictures, but they also get one after the wedding (it comes with our photo package). We, too, are doing the personalized playing cards (we are also using them for a game at the wedding!) but ours will be done with e-pics too.

We also decided to do something special for each parent. For my dad I got cufflinks (“I loved her first” and “Father of the bride”) for each of our mothers we have bracelets that match the BMs.

So we’re going the photo album route too, but I’m concerned that they won’t actually LOVE it. Like it’s a beautiful album but big…and what are they going to do with it? Is it like a coffee table book? I mean most of the photos won’t even have them in it…so I’m hesitating a little on that one. And I don’t want to spend the extra money if it’s not something they’ll love.

I’d also like to give them something to open at the rehearsal dinner but I’m at a total loss.
