Alright bees, I think Darling Husband and I have decided to TTC. We really have to plan around my work, so we are somewhat limited. As in, if it didn’t happen by a certain date we’d have to put it on hold a few months.
So I know my first step is to make an appointment to get my IUD removed. After that, I’m clueless. I’ve been on BC for 13+ years, and I’m one of those people that never gets a period with an IUD. Back when I was on the pill, almost 5 years ago, I would get one that was so light it was almost non-existant and only last a day. Since I don’t have one now, I really have no clue when it’s “that time of the month”.
Any advice on what my first step should be? For those who had an IUD, how quickly did your period return? I’d love thoughts or input!

That is an exciting time!!!! I was on B. For 4 years straight, the pill form. My period didn’t retune for 9 months. I just stopped the pill again after two years and we will be ttc in three months! Doc said to wait three months after stopping the Bc!

@starfish0116: i was the same way. on BC, i had barely any period and with my IUD i had no period. i got my IUD out in january and about 4 days later, i got a period. i started charting my cycles so i knew when i was ovulating and when to expect my period. my cycles have been irregular lengths but my periods are still light to normal (not anything heavy). if you want to start charting your cycles, check out fertilityfriend.com.

@starfish0116: it took me 2 cycles for my cycles to return to normal. But in that time, I practiced temping and charting. I highly suggest readying Taking Charge of Your Fertility 🙂
