So i realzed shortly after getting my wedding band that the shared prongs/diamonds were cutting into my ering! Yikes! What are your thoughts on soldering versus a spacer ring?
I managed to find a 2mm knife edge plain band that i can use as a spacer or wear alone or just with my ering. What do you think of it? The first photo is my original set, second is with the spacer.

that spacer does wonders, i absolutely love it!

I would choose to use a spacer, as I like the option of wearing my rings separately or in a different order (especially if you ever add an anniversary ring).

i actually very much like that idea— I am starting to feel like i have that same problem but do not want to solder my rings, necessarily.
maybe i will talk to Darling Husband and see what his thoughts are on the spacer!

I prefer the look without the spacer. It’s just so pretty to have your clear stones next to one another!

I like the spacer! I also went with a spacer with my set and I love that I can wear my wedding band alone when I want to.

LOOOOOOVE the way it looks with the spacer! Plus, like others have said, you can rearrange the order to suit your mood – or add one at a later date!

I think it looks too cluttered with the spacer. Would it be at all possible to find a thinner spacer (or one with more of a pronounced knife edge to give it less visual profile)? I think soldering is a bad idea, so finding a spacer that works for you would be ideal. I also think the spacer looks odd because it has less height than the two other bands.
Have you talked to your jeweler? Is there anything that can be done with the band to keep it from scratching?

…you know…if you have them set the prongs higher, they won’t dig into the band and you won’t need the spacer….I had my ring set really high so it would catch more light and flash and sparkle more…plus when I soldered the bands were flush…is that an option for you?

@kgirl91, they do make bands in 1.5 but then i could never wear it apart, it would look too insignificant as a plain band. The only spacer option left is a standard band which looks even larger than the knife edge. If the knife edge were taller, it too would damage my ering prongs. I did call both jewelers (internet companies) but they said solder or reset. Sad.
@nona99, im not sure setting them higher would help unless they were set flush with my ering diamond which would look kinda funny. But it def. an idea to reset the ring, i was just trying to avoid it. Thanks for the ideas though.
All bees, thank you for your input. I think based on the general consensus ill keep the spacer since i kinda like it with my ering and can use it as my travel ring as well.
