I can’t find anywhere where it says what the spacing should be for each guest along the tabletop. Someone told me 2′ for each guest, and that seems a little crowded to me, I was thinking two-and-a-half feet. Does someone know what is proper?
Thanks In Advance

For a wedding, 2′ is fine and equals 8 people for a 60″ round table. Many venues seat 10 at a 60″ round, which I hate. It works, meaning the chairs fit around it, but it is crowded. I would not do that at a wedding. If their tables are 66″ rounds, you’d get 26″ per person with 8 per round. 72″ rounds are ok for 10 people, giving them 22.6″ per person. A little tighter, but still workable.

lori.adams.589 : 24″ is an average (hence seaing 4 people on each side of an 8′ banquet table), but no one is going to complain if you give them more room.

I have 7.5 x 2.5 foot rectangular tables.
Thanks to all.
