sallyloves90 :  Spanking is not discipline, this is not something that you can have an opinion on. Spanking DOES NOT WORK. It does not. 30 years of research proves that it doesn’t. You are wrong, there are no two ways about it.

Hitting solves NOTHING. Spanking accomplishes 2 things – it instills fear (that’s a bad thing, in case you didn’t know), and it teaches kids that you can hit someone when you think they are wrong (also a bad thing).

If you spank you kids, you are a lazy parent. That is a fact.

Also, I’m glad you wouldn’t have expected less from this forum. That means the majority of the users are logical people.

sallyloves90 :  you’re… you’re joking, right? That one story, of how I handled my three year old hitting me in the face, and how she didn’t do it again after I told her how unacceptable that was… your take away is that my parenting is shit because she hit me during a temper tantrum?

I mean… kids try new things all the time to get what they want. They push limits and see how far they can get. It’s… that’s… that’s seriously just what they do πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

She tried something new and she failed.

This thread was opened to start drama and criticize others’ parenting choices. I’m going to go ahead and close this.
