If you buy actual Spanx (not a knock off), they have a gussetted crotch to allow you to pee. You would have to remove them to do more than pee.

I wear Spanx with form-fitting dresses and wore them with my wedding dress. It made me more comfortable to feel contained and to have the dimple of my bellybutton minimized. (I have a really deep belly button and it makes me look like I have a lump of belly above and below my navel… really annoying.)

I wore these in nude without the bra connecting straps.

@sheepandbear:  Oh yes. Yes, you can. The crotch has two reinforced pieces of fabric that lay over each other and you can move them to the sides to open up a whole through which you can pee. It’s wonderful.

ETA: there are horror stories out there about pee hole disasters, but I find it easy to manage all things considered and have never had a messy experience with peeing with my Spanx on.

@mrsSonthebeach:  Oh wow!!! I would be afraid to pee with it on so I would give it a trail run beore the wedding lol!! That way I could wash it and learn from my mistake lol!

Does anyone know if thsee stay up well if you get cups sewn in the dress, so you don’t have on a bra to hold the spanKs up?

@mrsSonthebeach:  Do they really work as good as it shows in the before/after pictures on their site? I was wondering this because I was considering wearing an actual corset from Fredericks of Hollywood to give me more shape.

@Saloria83:  Frederick’s of hollywood does not sell shaper corsets.  They even have that listed when you buy your corsets from them.  Theirs are fashion corsets.  There are many companies out there who sell shaper corsets.  I know those are more expensive but I would recommend getting a custom shaper corset if that is the route you are going to take.

Frederick’s makes their corsets to a “commercial size” which means that they don’t really bend the right way if you don’t really have the right body type.  For example, my chest fits their XL size but my waist fits their L or M size, which means that I can only fit some of their corsets.  I like the dream corset because it just squishes everything without caring what size you are, lol, but it would look terrible under a dress.  I’m not telling you don’t buy one, I have a few and I love them, I’m just saying that you might not want to bank on those corsets helping you with shaping.

@Bunny82:  Well the dream corset I tried on was perfect (for me anyway) at squeezing right where I wanted it to. However, if there is something better I would look into it. Where can I find custom ones?

@AquaRhapsody87:  No. I just sat like normal and leaned forward a bit.

@sunshinebee:  Mine stayed up, but that will depend on your body, I guess. I’ve never had a problem with Spanz rolling down. I have had this problem with other brands though. I wore mine over a longline bra, but I’ve worn the exact same ones without as well. I’ve never bothered with the strap thingies… too much effort.

@Saloria83:  They work really well for me. The thing to remember is that if you have some body fat, it’s going to go somewhere no matter what you wear, so if the Spanx or corset is too tight, that can force the fat to bulge above and below. A real corset (I have no idea about teh FoH ones) with boning will certainly give more shape because it’s a more structured piece, but I find them too restrictive.

Spanx are my best friend! Although I have had some issues with the extra high one rolling down, since my ribcage is so much narrower than my waist

I’m a bigger girl and I don’t like spanx at all. They don’t stay up, they roll down just like regular pantyhose 🙁
