Does anyone have recommendations for a corset or body shaper? My dress is too SMALL and I have three weeks to fit into it. I’m going low-carb but need a body shaper. I keep reading about spanx and victoria secrets body shapers. Anyone found one they like or understand the difference? Thank you! JH

Theres another thread somewhere around here about rago. I just ordered one to test out myself, well see how it goes! Im not intending for it to make me look smaller, just to smooth out any lumps and bumps.
be carful with the shapers you choose, most just reposition the flub and can actually make you bigger in some areas, or not flatter at all! Have you considered adding a corset back to your dress or letting it out?

I wish I had never worn a Spanx shaper on my wedding day. I didn’t need it to fit into my dress, but I wore it anyway because I thought it would make me look slimmer. All it did was squish all of the fat from my lower body up into my belly area and make me look like I was pregnant. It was horrible and I didn’t realize until after we got pics back. 🙁

I second the adjusting it to a corset back to make it bigger. If you cant get it on, pushing the “extra” to another area may not be flattering.

Becareful wiht REAL corsets, yes they take off inches but if you have never worn one, you can faint because they cause you to take shallower breaths.

My dress had a corset in it, and it helped greatly!
I was in my cousin’s wedding last month, and my dress just barely fit when it came in. I ordered Spanx, and bought a corset (from JCP) as well to put over the Spanx, but the corset was mainly to hold the girls in place (big chested and strapless bras do not work for me).
I do agree about the Spanx can just make you look chubby elswhere, as mine made me look like I had a baby bump going on.

@malinowskiscanoe: I want to suggest you drink tons of water and cut out any alcohol and salt! It worked wonders for getting rid of bloat and helped me fit in my dress!

I wear spanx anytime that I wear a dress and it works wonders for me. No it doesn’t help me suck it in but it definitely makes everything look much more flattering.
I also purchase a corset about a month ago. ( a real one) It’s not something you do lightly and you have to break it in first before you can even start to really lace it tightly. I can’t pull it tightly on my own but when I have someone to help me it makes me feel awesome. Cheating yes haha but it flattens everything out and holds it in.
My wedding is in 6 days yes just 6 days! Haven’t decided if I will be wearing the corset or this other shaper that sadly we spent about $70 on and i feel it is a waste if I don’t wear it but I’m playing it by ear.
🙂 If you have any other corset questions please feel free to ask or send me a message I am new at it but I’ll do my best!

@malinowskiscanoe: I tried body magic ( the black bit up there) but the dress did not fit still. I have sent u an email
and I can safely say that my dress fits after 3 weeks and I am ready to get wed
Hope This Helps

@malinowskiscanoe: body shapers can change how you look in your dress, but they won’t really help you fit into it.
If I were you, I’d work on getting rid of excess water weight, instead. Cut down your sodium intake as much as possible. Drink 8 glasses of water a day. If your body is getting enough water, it won’t hold onto as much. Likewise, excess sodium tends to hang out around your fat cells, where it encourages water storage. Cut out excess sugar and soda as well. If you are close to fitting into your dress, these behaviors along with exercise and a ballanced diet may help you to slim down enough for your dress.
