I had originally intended to wear spanx under my dress, but after it was altered I tried it on with and without and decided there was no noticeable difference, so I wore something more comfortable. 🙂  If your dress gives you good shape I would go without.

I don’t think getting spanx would be a bad idea if you really think you would like them to smooth things out. Corset dresses are primarily decorative nowadays anyway. I’m thinking about getting one for under my dress.

Are the spanx something that you could use for other events? If you try it on under your dress and you don’t think it makes a difference at least you would still have a use for them. I know some other ladies were thinking of wearing them under their rehearsal dinner dresses.

I agree with PP then about forgoing it if you are worried about it being uncomfortable. If your corset dress actually has support it porbably won’t make much of a difference. It sounds like it would just sit around in your closet forever.
