So I’m almost 8 weeks prego and I don’t look pregnant yet…I just look like I’ve had one too many bags of chips and candy bars. My pants fit but are uncomfortable…did you start wearing dresses and loose pants at this stage?

Invest in a belly band (you can find them at the maternity stores or even Target). That way you can wear your same pants but unbutton the top button.

Yeah, get a belly band. I was able to wear one for a couple months with my first pregnancy.

I wasnt at that stage, but keep in mind EVERYONE is different. My friend was in the same situation as you. Her bloating went away around 12 weeks then came back around 16 weeks. Like the 2 pps said, invest in some Belly Bands. They’re amazing. Im 28.5 weeks, and Im actually wearing one right now with some pre-preggo work pants and theyre still doing the trick.

I started wearing maternity clothes really early because of the bloat. I am just now around 18-20 weeks getting a real belly and its nice to already have some maternity options.

The bloat for me went away about 12 weeks and I was able to wear my normal pants until just last week (20 wks) where the baby did that weird “overnight I am going to pop out your tummy” thing and is now so high that while the pants still fit, the belly band, for me, doesn’t work.
If you’ve got clothes to wear that are comfortable might as well wear those or invest in a belly band.

Yeah, my weight has actually gone down a bit I just feel so bloated and uncomfortable. I will check out this belly band. Thanks!!!

I wore them early b/c of being bloated. I wasn’t going to be squished. I wore them about 10wks. Now I HAVE to wear them and I’m stocked up. 🙂

Another for the bella band. I was bloated early on too, and it was painful to wear my pants buttoned by around wk 7. The bella band got me through to this pt, where regular pants aren’t really comfortable anymore (even with bella band), so I wear too-big maternity pants with the bella band to keep them up and smooth things out.
In a pinch, you could always go with the old safety pin + rubber band trick until you’re in maternity pants. (But bella bands are pretty cheap at Target and work better.)
