We’ll be having a sparkler send off at my niece’s wedding.
I plan to set up a table on each side of the entrance/exit of the venue. The sparklers will be displayed there. Hopefully having two tables will cut down on crowding.
My question is how to light them. I’ve thought of a couple of possiblilties.
- Lighting several large pillar candles on each table that guests can use to light the sparklers.
- Having several of those long handled lighters available on each table.
- Or… providing books of matches, personalized with the couple’s name, at each table?
Which method did you use, or which do you think seems the best?

The candles would be much easier!

Sparklers don’t last very long, so you need to do something that will allow guests to light them all fairly instantaneously. Although, we did lighters at a wedding I recently went to, and people who already had lit sparklers used their to help other people light theirs. I think either candles or lighters would be fine, as long as you provide enough of them. I think candles would be prettier, though, and probably cheaper since you’ll have to buy several of whatever you choose.

Maybe put out a bowls with lighters?
I did find this online, which mentions getting a metal tub to put the used ones in. I thought it looked like a good idea.

Our coordinator used a couple of those brulee torches. Like PP said the sparklers don’t last long so you need to light them all quickly.
