Come On Baby Light My Fire!
Give us a picture perfect exit
by lighting a sparkler or two
And creating an arch
For us to run through
Let’s be safe!
No fire indoors, keep children away from fire, and place used sparklers in the metal bin
That’s my rough first draft. The sparklers will be loose in mason jars, we have individual matchbooks (100 for 130 guests) and a metal bin for trash at the end. This will be a framed 8.5×11 sign with all the stuff. 🙂
Suggestions, criticisms, etc. all welcome!

@ddw: Love it! Only suggestion is I would seperate final line into two sentences and add a please and thank you. “No fire indoors, keep children away from fire. Please place all used sparklers in the metal bin. Thank you!

we just had a little sign on the jar that held them saying “sparkler exit at 9pm”. I even forgot to make a nice printed version and had to keep the draft I made on lame paper… but oh well. It was simple and nobody needed a poem to tell them what to do. Not that you can’t – a poem is cute but the DJ announced it and the wedding party and family knew what was going on and help coordinate.

@Rgeddy: I guess you’re right; I just like the idea of having cute signage. I don’t think most of my guests have seen or participated in a sparkler send off before. 🙂
