@MissNachoLover:  It depends on the venue, but many will not due to health code restrictions and liability issues.

Our venue packed them all up for us to take. It was a very pleasant surprise since our food was delicious!

Our caterer would not pack up our leftover food (we didn’t have that much anyway) but the venue did let us take our leftover booze, at least the items we had special ordered. We had an open bar from their stock and 3 special order items so it was really nice to be able to take home the leftover adult beverages!

Depends on the caterer and how long the food sat out. Usually caterers that come to you are more likely to pack the food up than inhouse catering at a hotel or restaurant.

@cajungirl81:  I find that it’s a very stupid rule, when venues don’t pack it up. If we go out to a restaurant they package up our meals, so why the heck can’t we get them packaged from our wedding? Our venue doesn’t allow it, it’s so stupid, oh well.

Nope!! I got a to-go box of food, but it was never served. Any food that was served to people had to be trashed.

No, every venue I looked wouldn’t allow any food to be taken away.

@drummerbride:  No one ever said the rules had to make sense, unfortunately.  I’ve never really understood it, but that’s what every venue we looked at told us when we asked.
