I know it can’t be the healthiest but has anyone tried it? I love their cereal and eat it every morning but I’m thinking about trying their diet plan before we get our engagement pics done this fall. Any thoughts?

I’ve never done it, but I know people who have – yes, they lost weight for a short while, but when they went back to eating “normally” they gained it back. They also complained about being hungry a lot!

i did it once. as a temp thing. i knew it wouldnt last and it ddint. but it did work.

@SunnyBunny: It’s really just a low calorie diet. In my opinion, you can eat more filling meals for around the same amount of calories.
With that said, my roommate and I tired it years ago. She lost 5lbs and gained it right back, and I fell off the wagon by the 2nd day. I was ready to eat my arm off.

I love special K too! Its the only cereal I’ll really eat. But I think i’d go nuts if I tried to do their diet. For one, their ‘serving size’ is rediculous, I easily eat twice their recommended in any given sitting. And secondly, I think it’d get boring real fast.

Yeah, I tried it last summer before going to the beach, along with some exercise. I did lose about 8 lbs in one month, but like PPs have said, I was hungry all the time, even with the plan’s little snacks in between. And I gained it back, too, after I stopped the plan. Probably had something to do with all the yummy food I indulged in on vacay, lol. I figured, fuck it, I’ve been starving for a month, I’m getting my grub on!
So, yeah, it’s a nice temporary thing, but I could never survive on that type of diet regularly. I’d go stir crazy with hunger.

My FI’s sis did that. She lost 15 lbs or so, but then gained most of it back.

No, no, do not do that shit.
They want you to live on less than 900 calories a day.
Any dietary change worth making is worth making permanently. Seriously. You couldn’t live on that stuff long-term, and why would you want to? It would be effing unpleasant.
People need to stop dieting. A healthy, balanced diet is not rocket science.

Don’t diet. Just eat healthy. Make sure you have a big healthy breakfast, it’ll keep you from snacking all morning. Have cereal if you must, but put on some banana or other fruits. And have a yoghurt stuffed on there too. Porridge/oatmeal is also good!
Only 1/3rd of a cup or whatever the feck they say you can have of Special K wil not keep you going! You’ll end up miserable and snacking by 9.30am, I swear it.
If you insist on following their dumb diet then flip it on it’s head. Have the piddly Special K serving for dinner at night, not for breakfast and have your big dinner for breakfast instead. Yep, lasagne for breakfast 😉

if you dont mind being hungry all the time you can do it. remember, most of us eat two servings of cereal….so its important to measure 🙂 good luck! have you thought of just cutting back calories? That gives most people results. go onto myfitnesspal and tell them how much you want to loose by when and they will tell you howmany calories to consume to meet that goal 🙂
