Are Fiance and I supposed to have a speech prepared for our rehearsal dinner?
I was reading my Brides magazine last night, and it says at 2 weeks, we’re supposed to prepare speeches for the Rehearsal Dinner.
Did anyone prepare one? I was thinking of just flying off the seat of my pants…

I’ve been reading different things about Rehearsal Dinner speeches. Some articles say that you don’t have to give a speech, that the Rehearsal Dinner is whatever you want it to be. Other articles say if you decide to give a speech to just keep it short and sweet by thanking everyone for their love and support, maybe throw in a couple of anecdotes, etc. My Fiance and I are not preparing one, I think we will just wing it the night of.

We are just doing a casual rehersal dinner so no speeches for us! haha..maybe we’ll personally thank our bridal party etc at dinner but not like make a big speech. I was also thinking to give my bridal party their gifts at the Rehearsal Dinner if anything..?

We didn’t “prepare” anything lol. Darling Husband said thank you for coming blah blah blah when everyone first arrived. After dinner, right before we handed out gifts to our bridal party, I told him that he had to get up and say something about thanking everyone who is standing up with us and had been supporting us through our relationship and engagement. He winged it and it was perfect!

We winged it. Before we passed out our gifts we thanked everyone for joining us, thanked DH’s parents for hosting, thanked everyone for being there with us throughout the whole planning process, etc… You don’t really need to “prepare” anything, but it’s nice to say a few words.
