Spence store has moved into my town and I’m curious to get a lab-grown diamond (because it’s 30% cheaper than natural, I can get a bigger stone for the $$). Any of you own a spence lab-grown diamond? Or any lab-grown diamond? Note, it has to be chemucally identical to natural diamond, not a simulant or a look-alike. If you have a lab-grown diamond, please show pictures and specifications (4 C’s) and most importantly if you’re happy with it.

I have been to Spence a couple of times in Vancouver BC, but I didn’t know they sold lab grown diamonds… I thought they sold natural diamonds. I wonder if it is the same Spence….? hmmm curious now…

My Fi bought my ring from Spence (Vancouver). He bought an antual diamond, but did have the choice for a lab grown one. He says they did look exactly the same uner the microscope as the actual diamond and they really pride themselves in it. Apparently he couldn’t tell the difference.
However, in the end he thought I would want an actual one so he didn’t end up getting it.

lilsweetie : Yes, the brand is from Canada so I think it’s the same… But I know that they actually sell both kinds, and they will give you a different certificate if it’s lab-grown so it’s not like they hide it from their customers

I almost got one, and it looked identical to the natural stones which they also carry. They branded the lab stones as Artisan, and explained that it would come with a different certification and everything.

suspend : I titally undestand, I also wanted a natural stone in my engagement ring so we went with a Brazilian morganite. But if it’s fashion jewelry I would LOVE to get lab-grown diamonds.
