I have contemplated the same thing. Anyone who has done this or decided against it and would care to comment that would be great.

I am staying at two resorts in Bali.  One in Seminyak and one in Ubud.  Both have private plunge pools.  From what my firends have told me on their honeymoon to bali, it is worth having a private pool if it fits in your budget bc it is so stinkin hot there, all you wanna do it go bafck to the resort and jump in the pool naked! haha!  Privacy is a plus and it is convenient to have it right next to the livig room.

However, if it is bit too much to get a private pool, i would not worry, bc asia, compared to US have less people going to the public pools.  I heard that the public pool is not crowded like the resorts here….

With all this said, would I ‘spend a bomb’ on having a pool?  depends on my budget…I would if my budget was able to fit it in.  Definitely a luxury I want…If i could not, then I wouldn’t break my back trying to fit it in…The public pools will suffice…

i’m back..hehe…

Just to give you a better idea… I am staying at a resort that costs 200 per night and then another one that costs 350 per night.  I believe the cheapest villa with private pool is a little less than 200.  So, Asia is a lot cheaper than US.

To plan my trip, I visited Tripadvisor.  Helped me in researching resorts and hotels.  The forums there gave me a lot of information as well in terms of reviews of certain resorts, places to eat, cheap things to do in bali…etc etc…

Hope this helps~
