One of the best tips I have found is to get things done at a cosmotology college. Some of the stuff (like massages, facials and waxing) are not too hard for the students to do and you can save serious cash doing it there. Also if you want something a little more complicated you can either request a student who is about to graduate or use the money you saved on all those other things and treat yourself to a more upscale place!

I keep an eye on Groupon and Living Social. I found my current waxer from a deal on Living Social (I was able to buy 2 – she had good reviews on Yelp so I went for it) – it was a great deal for a brow wax & brazilian. I did buy a sugaring kit from Ulta (Moom brand, FWIW) and have done a bikini wax on myself a few times and wax my brows and lip myself. The kit was under $20, so it’s more than paid for itself. I also like sugaring b/c you can wash and reuse the muslin strips. I also started dying my hair myself most of the time (I still like to splurge now and then!). I go to Sally’s and buy their dye – it’s really great and my stylist knows I do this, and she’s even been impressed. Also agree about going to beauty schools – love to get manicures there. My only complaint about getting my hair done is that it takes SO much longer.
