We went out to a really nice dinner and Darling Husband got me flowers.

We bought a new car 6 months before our anniversary and we each got full sets of scuba gear 2 months after our anniversary so we basically considered those things to be our anniversary presents to each other.

Our hotel gave us a two night anniversary stay (+ dinner at the resort) to make up for a few issues on the wedding day so we’ll be taking a trip.

I’m due right around our anniversary SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO if we DO do something we’ll probably push it back to be more of a summer get away as opposed to a spring fling anniversay. lol

We stayed at the hotel we spent our wedding night, got massages, had a picnic at our wedding venue, and then had a bonfire back at the hotel. It was perfect πŸ™‚ Not really a trip away, but not really a stay-cation either.

We’re going to renew our vows for the one year…. our wedding was a comedy of disasters and we are going to privately have another ceremony for ourselves.

@DCSquared: Yeah – lol!  We justified them in our minds a bit by not doing anything too crazy right at our anniversary itself.

We’re going out for a nice dinner and I’m baking a cake (still no idea what to do in terms of design). I really wanted to stay overnight at the hotel where we spent our honeymoon, which isn’t terribly expensive, but Darling Husband thinks it’s frivolous so I guess that’s out. πŸ˜›

Our hotel offers us a stay in one of their suites, a dinner at their restaurant and massages on our one year. πŸ™‚

    So we are set!

I don’t know what we’ll do…  However, since I’m planning a surprise birthday for Darling Husband just four days before our anniversary, I suspect we’ll only go out for dinner.  Plus, it’s right after Thanksgiving, we’ll be getting ready for Christmas…  Sheesh! I just realized I really chose an inconvenient date for a wedding anniversary!!!!

@Mrs Grape: Oh – I forgot!  I tried to make an ice cream cake for our anniversary since we didn’t have the top of our wedding cake.  My attempt didn’t go so well ….

Darling Husband has planned a whole vacation for us! He said, “How do you feel about spending our first anniversary snowboarding?” and I said that sounded great, and BOOM, next thing I know he’s booked our hotel and lift tickets, etc. for a week in the mountains.

This will be the first vacation I’ve been on since I was a kid where I didn’t have to do any of the planning, and it feels gooooooood. My husband is awesome πŸ™‚
