But if you don’t like discussing the cost of the ring, saying how many days you own it and how much it cost per day is the same, isn’t it?

@minnewanka:  lol…funny thread! My ring wasn’t very expensive and it’s been 9.5 years since we got engaged. Mine is down to about 24 cents a day! Can’t believe our engagement was that many years ago! I’ve bern saying to hubby that I want a pear or marquise halo for our ten year wedding anniversary thinking stupidly that it’s a long way off. Turns out it’s not so far off! I guess time flies when you’re happy in your relationship! 😁

Owning and wearing are two different things… I’ve worn mine maybe 10x since covid so that’s not a good ratio for the past little bit!

Mines already down to $.58 a day. And I didn’t even get it until our 5th anniversary.

I only know the appraised value of my ring, and based on that I’m just under $3/day. However my husband has a family hookup and paid wholesale cost, not retail, so while I don’t know exactly how much he spent, I know it was far under the appraised value.

BUT I don’t wear my ring every day so I can’t get a true calculation based on how many times I’ve actually worn it lol.

I’m at $24.16/day based on how much it cost (haven’t had it appraised) and I wear it every single day, in fact I only take it off to clean it once a week

I wear my ring every day, only take it off for messy tasks like cooking, gardening or cleaning.  I didn’t make the effort to count the exact number of days but at just over 4 and a half years i’m at about 4.45 dollars per day.

I think I am down to $12 per day for my set. This is a really a interesting way of looking at whether a ring is worth the expense. It’s probably the single item we will wear daily for the rest of our lives

Going by purchase prices and our engagement and wedding dates, respectively, I would be at $3.91 for my engagement ring and $28.17 for my wedding band. I hardly ever take my rings off.

My wedding band was about $500 less than my e-ring, but thanks to COVID we ended up engaged for a year longer than planned.

I’m at $54.79/day….Which sounds crazy to me now hahahaha. Even more a reason to wear it often! My mother always asks why I wear it outside because of the risk of losing it but it seems like such a shame to purchase such a beautiful piece of jewelry….only to hide it away 🙂

@BuzzedBumblingBee:  absolutely!  I intend to wear this ring until the day I die and God willing I’ll get down to pennies per day.  If that doesn’t make the cost worth it, I don’t know what does.

And I agree with

@thecleverfoxgirl:  too.  I can’t imagine spending that kind of money on anything and not getting daily use from it.  As long as it is fully insured I will wear it daily.  My husband would sure have an opinion if I decided to stop wearing the most precious and expensive gift he has ever purchased for me.
