So who all is going to be running tomorrow morning?? I know that most towns have a “Turkey Trot” of some kind.
This will be my second year participating and I’ve decided to make it a yearly tradition. Do you run it by yourself or with family members, friends?
This year it’ll be my sister, my mom (she’s walking it), Darling Husband and I. I’m really excited! Last year my SIL ran it with me and her husband thought it was ridiculous that we were running on a holiday!
Also, is anyone dressing up??? I never do but I love seeing some of the costumes!

Yep, I’m running! My husband is too, but he’s trying to PR, so he’s taking off without me. My sister and her Fiance are running as well.
No costumes, but I’m showing off my NYC Marathon gear!!

@Running Elley: I’m doing one on Saturday. For the past two years, my brother has dressed up in my dad’s 70’s baby blue tux and run in that. He said it was so tight that the chafing was pretty bad. He won the first year, and was 3rd last year. Let me see if I can find the fb link of the pics.
These are from 2 years ago – 1st pic is him after winning, 2nd is of him and his best friend who also dressed up in my dad’s old clothes.

I wish I were doing one this year! I used to do an 8k trot when we lived in Chicago. It was always a lot of fun!

No I’m not a turkey trotter, as you know I’m a reindeer in a Reindeer Run on Friday. Boo, I wish it was tomorrow.

I wanted to! The town I moved to in Florida has their Turkey Trot sold out! I can’t believe they are denying, but they run it on an island and I guess space and traffic logistics are an issue.

@hotchildinthecity:I’m trying to PR too. Yay! And I’ve also been considering wearing my marathon shirt from this past month’s half. We’ll see 🙂
@hisgoosiegirl:LOL that’s priceless!!!
@mole:I just love it 🙂 It feels like the holidays to me!
@knvprincess143:You’ll do great, use Thanksgiving dinner to carb load!
@Eva Peron:Ours almost sold out this year too! They aren’t letting anyone register day of this year which I thought was really odd. They usually do.

I’m running a half marathon. It’s called the Widdle Waddle. The full marathon is the Wattle Waddle. 🙂 No costumes for me–I just hope to wear enough clothes to keep the rain out!

I’ve never heard of this before.

I’m not, but Darling Husband always runs with his dad. We have a secret weapon this year!
ETA: I’m hoping to run with them next year.

@Looopy:What a cute name!!! A whole half on thanksgiving?? You are a very brave woman 🙂
@Meowkers:It’s basically just a town’s Thanksgiving run. They range in distance but I’m pretty sure that the average length is 5k. They usually have great turnouts!
@Mrs Sarah McK:That is absolutely awesome lol

@Mrs Sarah McK: Lol nice!
My whole family was going to do the Turkey Burner tomorrow morning which was a 90 min spin class and a 60 min strength training class back to back but they ran out of room 🙁 So we’re all taking our road bikes to the local tri course and riding a good 20 miles! Oh yeah 🙂

I Turkey-Trotted! And out of 1,120 runners, I was the ONLY one in costume! Lots of people wore the butterball hats, but no other full costumes… so I made the Sunday Paper AND the 6 and 11 o’clock news on Thanksgiving day!
