Alright so you ladies convinced me, keeping my E-ring as is, is the best choice. (many thanks to those who helped me out!!) -hugs-
So my new question is: DH works at a diamond mine and every october he gets the chance to buy certified canadian diamonds before the hit the market for a really good price. We would both like to buy one (for me) but i dont need another diamond necklace and i am starting to think a RHR would be the way to go. I couldnt tell you what size he would end up buying, but he gets the choice of:
- princess -full disclosure not my favorite for me-
- and a few other square variation cuts
Taking my wedding set into concideration what would YOU choose as a right hand ring style, cut… ext? I have never thought about rings before so any help or inspiration photos would be greatly appreciated.
For reference my ring set:

@MrsHoneyC: I don’t have a specific suggestion, but I would stick in the roundish family. I am mainly commenting to tell you that I love your set!

Maybe go with something in a totally different style as a fun contrast? I don’t know what your style is, so I have no recommendations, but I would go with something low-set if you’re right handed. Maybe something simple like a solitaire or 3 stone?

@hotpinkbride: awe thanks <3
@abirdword: yeah i was thinking maybe just a classic solitaire too? …. i have no idea??

@MrsHoneyC: what about cushion cut? i loooove cushion cuts!
oh idea! what about getting sidestones that are the baby’s birthstone?

@MrsHoneyC: If it was me, I’d do a round bezel. I’ve been wanting one for a RHR for a while!

I agree with ceebree, a bezel set round stone would be gorgeous!

I would suggest round because it is the most diverse when it comes to setting options, the shape that maximizes diamond’s most valued qualities as a gemstone, and, still thinking of investment value here, it’s going to appreciate faster and more reliably than other shapes.

Since you already have an oval sapphire, I would go with round cut.

@allyfally: I agree. I love pear shaped stones.

I thought this would be easy! I’ve started this answer 3 times because I.just.cannot.make.my.mind.up.
lol – sorry.

@ceebree: stole my suggestion! I think a bezel set solitaire would be perfect!

@MrsHoneyC: I love diamonds and sapphires!
To complement your wedding set, how about a three-stone ring with a RB center diamond flanked by smaller, round sapphires or an emerald-cut diamond with sapphire baguettes?
