Barbiestylez – Ditto. I love having curves, but would like to downsize a little.

I think a lot of woman consider themselves ‘curvy’ and they’re not.

I consider myself curvy; there is an 14″ difference between my bust and my waist and a 13″ difference between my hips and my waist. I am currently over weight, however at my slim, comfortable weight, I have the same difference in measurements.

I’m well below the average for my height. I’m tall and slim, but yet I am ”curvy” because I have a small waist, defined hips and heart-shaped butt, and I’m a F cup. My body shape is hourglass.

It’s confusing because often the word ”curvy” is used to describe plus-size ladies, but what about thin girls who happen to have curves ?

I’m 5’3″ and 115. I am not curvy, but wish I was! I feel less feminine because I don’t have a defined hourglass at 32-26-36. I’m not tiny and petite, and I’m not curvy… I’m a boring middle ground average! Haha…. /end rant

@Payless:  Before I had children, I had the same measurements as you and in no way was I curvy.  I’m 5′ 6.5″.  Interesting.  Maybe if I’d been able to keep some weight on, I’d have been curvier!!  (I was around 125lbs)

I consider myself curvy, even though I’m bigger. Lots of people seem to think that curvy is just a nice way of saying ‘fat’, but it really is a body shape – I wear a 16-18 and am a 36GG. Sorry but this is the only recent pic I have for reference:

@Payless:  I’d say 10″ or more difference between chest and waist and/or waist and hips. That number would vary some with height.

@Payless:  If you’re going by ratio, usually 0.75 WHR or below.

I am rather curvey, this sitting down picture, IMO really shows the curves… But the full body shot shows it also

Sadly, I would just say I was fat at the moment! I don’t think I’ve ever been “curvy”…
