Thanks again! I got my new dress:
I only had to pay $2
awesome! i’m so glad it worked out and you got your dream dress!
I picked up my dress from DB about a month ago and took it to a local seamstress. My problem was I was told I need to order the fit and flare slip with my dress in order for it to look good. So without trying one on with my dress I took her advice. When I took it for alterations the slip is way to high up my back and doesn’t work with the cut out of my dress. Will they give me a refund? It still has all the tags.
Hi! I have a DB appt on June 30. I’m trying to sort out the pros and cons of getting this dress from DB or pre-owned from a bride. The dress I want, and I know it was previously posted, is this:
I cannot afford the high price tag UNLESS I put this dress on layaway. I’m wondering if I were to purchase this dress from DB what perks if any would you receive? Also, they say if you purchase your dress from there, the BMs would receive a discount and I’m wondering how much of a discount would that be? And to put this dress on layaway, would they require 25% of TOTAL cost including alterations? I want a sweetheart neckline and that’s about all I want to change on the dress. I’m thinking I don’t need a bustle. I will be able to determine that more once I try it on. I have to drive over 2 hours away just to try this dress on so I want to be financially prepared. Thanks so much!
yes if you purchase your dress from DB your bms and basically anyone who wants to buy a dress from there for the wedding(either mother, gma’s, anyone not in the wedding but wants a special occasion dress) would receive $20 dollars off if the dress you choose is at least $100 and not on clearance.
the 25% is only for the cost of the dress plus tax, not alterations. they won’t do anything to the dress until it is paid for in full. so alterations won’t be added until you own it.
you get some coupons and freebies for purchasing. there are different promotions at different times for discounts on any veil or headpiece the day you purchase your dress.
you and your entire part gets 10% off any shoe purchase. 15% off flower girl dresses.
each groomsman would receive $40 off their tux rental and with 5 paid rentals your groom gets his suit/tux for free.
that’s all i can think of at the moment. if you can find it in your size and color used i’d look into doing that if the price is right. otherwise i’d bite the bullet and put it in layaway. you have 60 days to pay it off, then you can arrange to sell it after the wedding if you want to recoup some of the cost.
my pleasure! glad i could help ease your mind. 🙂
Do you have any idea where DB get their veil’s and headpieces? I’ve heard that they buy them from wholesale companies online and mark them up much higher? I’ve also heard that their are other places you can go to get the exact same veil for much less? Is this true?
