my fiancé makes more than minimum wage but we have two kids and I am a stay at home mom so we budget our finances. We went with moissanite because other wise we wouldn’t have been able to afford such a nice size stone. He used money he earned while working on storm call so his paycheck was bigger than normal.

Fiance makes a little over minimum wage, while I stay home with my 4 year old from a previous relationship.

We actually returned my previous ering back to JCPenney (finding a band for it was turning into a nightmare) for store-credit & ended up only paying something like $15-$18 for this set (I think it was regularly $125). It’s a CZ, but I wouldn’t change it for anything! It sparkles like mad! 🙂

Fiance makes more than minimum wage now thanks to a huge promotion (to a manager position, yay!) but while he was saving up for my ring, he was making just above minimum wage.  We discussed the ring and getting engaged before he proposed because he wanted to make sure he bought me a ring I was in love with, so he gave me a budget he could afford and I chose a few options based on that.  Our budget was $1,000 and Fiance had saved up $500 to put down; the rest went on a credit card that he will have paid up in the next few months.  After taxes and insurance, my ring came to just under $1,200 🙂

@misscakeandtea:  I hear ya….we are currently saving up enough money to try and put down payments on some land and trying to save up to build….if we dont do that there are some really neat old homesteads out here that just need some TLC and some time to make em shine again….and we of course could do everything ourselves with a re-model….(for the most part) and all our costs would be materials….so we shall see what happens….living in town is making me a little crazy! I miss my wide open spaces!

@Scintillante:  Thanks I will! Its what im leaning towards!

@bunnyharriet:  Thank you so much. I really love moissanite. I could never buy a diamond!

@karissa_elaine:  Me too. I had always planned to have a diamond until I saw moissanite. We could afford a diamond but I have no desire to waste so much extra on virtually the same end product. Moissanite is even better to me since it is so sparkly. I love it!
