My mom had me when she was 39.  All throughout my childhood I felt like I had a grandmother rather than a mother.  She never wanted to do anything.  My older siblings have very different memories of my mother than me.  So, I made the conscious decision to have my kids young because I didn’t want to be too old and tired to have fun with my kids.  I had my two kids at ages 25 and 27.

I had my daughter at 24 and I’m 26 now. It’s funny cuz I always wanted to get married at 24 then have my 1st child at 26. I guess I did the opposite, haha.

I’m currently 27 and do not have children.  None of my friends who range from 26-32 have children either.  FI and I aren’t really planning on even trying to have kids for another 3 years or so.

I had my daughter at 24. A tad earlier than my “life plan” dictated, but I’m glad I had her young.

I got pregnant when I was 18 and had my son at 19. His dad was 17. My Fiance wants a child so we plan to start trying after the wedding…(we’ll be 26 when we get hitched next year) if I don’t get pregnant by 29 he’s getting snipped and we’ll start looking into adoption.

None yet but we want to have our child before we’re 30 (we’re both 25). I’m more than likely going to have problems conceiving so we’ll probably start preparing in 2 years or so.

@2ndtime: That makes me really sad ๐Ÿ™ I had my first son at 24 but my second at 38 and I hope he doesn’t grow up to say the same thing about me!!! I guess I do understand though as I’m the youngest of six and I certainly experienced things differently than my siblings. My family did a lot of camping, etc.. when I was too young to remember but when when I grew up, my parents also had more money to go on vacations to other states, etc.. my siblings think I got a lot more yet I think they got more “time” with the family. I think one can be a great parent at any age, it’s all about what you put into it.

I was 24 and 26 and planned on being a young mom. I had tons of energy and we just had a lot of fun (Super Mario and Spongebob-yay). But we kind of grew up together and I kind of wish I knew then what I know now. If that makes sense. Lol I guess what I’m trying to say is that in an ideal world, you would have the energy of a 20 year old and the wisdom of a 40 year old.

But no regrets and there is no “perfect” age to have kids. There are pros and cons for each, no matter if you’re “young” or “old”.
