The baguettes are in the split shank!
My rings are rolling the the baguettes! LOL
@khf777: I love all of the step cuts in your ring! (I’ve often wondered what my ring would look like with an emerald-cut center stone.)
Mine has baguettes on the far left and right… Family heirloom from 1910, love it!!
Mine are sideways 🙂
@Paleored: I’m late to the party on this thread, but would you mind sharing the size of your stone? And your ring size? I just want to get perspective on size because this is the style SO and I picked and I am waiting very impatiently to recieve 🙂 You’re ring is classic and so gorgeous, you/FI have great taste 😉
I love mine..had to have 2 bands though…
@lolot: I’ve seen your ring recently on a couple of other threads, and I think it’s both rare and stunning! What is the formal name of the almost triangular-shaped stones closest to your center stone? I don’t think I’ve ever seen those before!
@Ms. Bicycle Samurai: Your ring is beautiful!! I’m so glad you posted it.
I love that your baguettes appear to be straight and not tapered like mine are, and the fact that you have those very cool, three-prong-prongs (for lack of a better way to say that) in each corner of your center stone!
@Brielle: Thank you so much!! My ring is from 1932 and straight (vs. tapered) baguettes seem more common in vintage rings than modern…though i adore them all, yours included! I’ve actually had my ring for two years, but never posted it before for the very reason you mention…the prongs…they used to be yellowy and blunt looking, but I never wanted to say anything, hurt my husband’s feelings, etc.
I finally spoke up during my last stop in to the vintage jeweler for cleaning, and they explained that the original owner had probably upgraded the diamond at some point and the repronging had been done in gold (the rest of the ring is platinum). They offered to replace them with platinum for free, and while they were at it I had them restore the prong style to the fancy triple prong that would have been original to the ring. I am absolutely in love all over again!! And posting all over the baguette, vintage, and ‘show me your gap’ threads. Though I am also now searching for a baguette anniversary band to mix and match for a more vintage looking set. Just ordered two to try…I’ll keep ya posted 😉
Thanks for starting this little forum – so much fun!
@Brielle: Yes they actually go the other way to fit more like a curved band but I turned them the opposite way so the baguettes stood out more. They dont go to a point per se but actually have a baguette in the middle horizontally. Thanks…I still catch myself all of the time gazing at it and smiling after almost a year!
