@jdhall89  We did that with two rings, to see what thickness he liked wearing, such a good idea!

FI’s is a 5mm ( I think ) simple yellow gold domed band. It was $450. What’s so special about it is that it’s diestruck, which means it was forged from one piece of metal, insteald of soldered, and it’s crazy, but when it’s resized, it’s either stretched or compressed, so its integrity will never be compromised. He just better not break it!

@iiiEllie  It was so helpful when we were trying to figure out what size he was.  He ended up almost a full size smaller than what he thought he was in the jewelry store.

We found a custom titanium band on etsy for about $150.  Love it!

My Fi took FOREVER to find a ring. He didn’t want anything plain. We looked in all the local chain stores and narrowed it down to two. This one was at Zales for $129, but then I saw that it was discontinued by Littman and was selling there for $57! SCORE! With the lifetime plan, it was still only $70 something.. so I think we did good!

My guy has the Frank Gehry for Tiffany octagonal Torque ring in silver as his band right now (we’re common law). He loves that ring so for the wedding, I’m getting it custom made in unplated white gold. So far the quotes have ranged from $2300-$2800 for an 11mm ring in 18K. Are we getting gouged?

I’m shocked at how expensive custom is, especially since if Tiffany offered the ring in unplated white gold, it would almost certainly be less than $2000.

We bought him a titanium and wood inlay ring for $250, but got 15% off because they were having a sale. It looks a lot like the one below.

FI’s ring cost $600.. but the jeweler misquoted us at $300! We didn’t find out until after the fact – what a steal! =)

His wedding band is going to cost about $2,000 – it will be a titanium band with his clan crest on it Laughing

Of all the rings we looked at Fi chose a $65 stainless steel band.
