I just commented on the other thread, but I will write here too! My partner proposed to me on our trip to China, and our tour guide serenaded us with a famous Chinese love song called The Moon Represents My Heart. I’m currently listening to a version by Zhao Peng, and I can see this possibly being our first dance song. I definitely want to have the song incorporated on our day, and he does too.

Angel Eyes by The Jeff Healey Band.

We both grew up in the 80’s and I’ve loved that song since I was a little girl.

Our will be Thinking Outloud by Ed Sheeran. My fiancé first heard that song while we were in Province town sung by a drag queen. He had no idea it was a popular song and loved it telling me it was how he feels about us. Also he doesn’t like a lot of love songs so it was nice that we both like this one and it has special meaning for us.

“Infinity” by AJR. We (along with our kids) are big AJR fans. I took Fiance to see them in a tiny venue a year and a half ago before they had any hits, and they played this song. It really resonated with us and is “our song.” Fiance was attempting to get them to come to our wedding to play it, but then they had a radio hit and started selling out their venues…so, the DJ playing it will do.

Our first real date involved watching Black Mirror, so we’ll be dancing to Anyone Who Knows What Love Is. It’s super nerdy but very us.

hippievan :  I wanted something short, sweet and romantic. It always seems like a 3 minute song is WAY to long for a first dance. People get bored and we were worried about people losing interest after the first minute and starting to wonder away. So we decided on ‘so this is love’ from Cinderella.

First husband and I danced to “I’ve Finally Found Someone” by Barbara Streisand.

SO doesn’t dance so we’re up in the air about what to do.  Neither of us dance, really.

Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones. I picked about a minute and a half long section on Spotify and told the DJ when to start and stop it! We didn’t really practice our dance much so I figured people didn’t want to watch us sway for the whole song, plus neither of us is big on being the center of attention.

Kiss from a Rose by Seal. My favorite song as a young girl so I was touched when my Fiance chose it for us.
