We also did Wild Horses by the Stones. It was the first song we had ever danced to.

My fiance and I don’t dance, but it is important to me to have the “first dance”. We haven’t discussed it yet, but I love A Thousand Years by Christina Perri.

“Amazing Day” by Coldplay was our first dance song ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s modern yet romantic and sorta timeless and just a little magical, and the lyrics were just perfect for us. It was also a relatively easy tempo to dance to that starts off slow and picks up pace. We had a choreographed dance and it was really fun especially towards the end.

We are being non traditional.  I ballroom dance for fun so everyone will expect a nicely choreographed rumba or something (fiancé is still learning to dance!).  Well, we’re nerds, and we wanted it to be fun.  Sooo..

first 30 seconds of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic – making it extra cheesy and danced “badly” (off time, elbowing him in chest).  Then we go into Weird Al’s “White and Nerdy” because that’s us, and my dance teacher helped us put a hodgepodge of moves like the Macarena and the Carlton ๐Ÿ˜‚. We can’t wait to perform it at our reception in June!

Our wedding is still a while away (2020 bride here) but we know it will be between “One and Only” by Adele or “Overjoyed by Matchbox Twenty!

Annie’s Song by John Denver! It was simple and sweet. I still get all soppy when I hear it!

Piano guys version of the Jurassic Park theme song segueing into Everything is Awesome from the Lego movie. We’re definitely keeping the dances short since 3 minutes if watching other people dance is kind of boring.  We’ve limited each song to 1.5-2 minutes and the DJ is editing the songs down for us.

mrsptobe2017 :  We almost chose Wild Horses!

Ours will be “Tonight, Tonight” by Smashing Pumpkins. We’re putting a big emphasis on staying true to ourselves throughout this whole process.

Ours will be Eva Cassidy’s version of At Last. It’s very fitting for us, as we’ve had a very long engagement (will be almost 6 years between the engagement and the wedding). We’re also an older couple, I’ve been divorced for over 20 years, and this will be my FI’s first marriage, at the age of 56! “At last, my love has come along… ” He also loves Eva Cassidy.

nonnymouse : Oh I LOVE Eva Cassidy. Love her version of this song (and every song she sang).

My fiancé and I will be dancing to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. It is the first song we danced to together ๐Ÿ™‚
