I dont think that’s true! I have personally taken advantage of the “restricted” list lately!! You can add friends to the list, they still are  your friend, but can only see the info you make public. Genius!

I did not hear about this change. I don’t think it will change anything for me. I generally don’t unfriend people unless I have a really good reason, like once a guy started harrassing me and sending me messages all the time, so I am not worried about people being hurt. I have been defriended before but not by people I am even friends with so I don’t care.

If it’s true, I’m glad!  For the most part there is always a reason I defriend people; I’m not one to weed out my list of people i haven’t talked to in a while.  A little bit ago I defriended my friend’s ex girlfriend who treated him like crap… wish she would’ve realized it!!

I think it’s a bit creepy and will cause a lot more drama (not that there isn’t enough) in the high school and college-ish age users. I think it’s unnecessary.

I also think it sucks. I went a few weeks ago and “cleaned house” on my friends page, basically deleting people from high school that I had no reason to have accepted in the first place. I’ve had my FB for years and wanted to get rid of some of the negativity and/or instability – you know, those people that are married and then single and then remarried in a 4 hour timeframe?? But there’s no reason for them to KNOW, it’s not like I did it with some big “I’m deleting all you annoying people!!!!” status.

ETA: Just glad I got all my deleting done before the change? LOL. So I don’t really care now, but I guess I would have! haha.

Hmm, I hadn’t heard that yet and am feeling really skeptical!  Then again, you saw it on the NEWS….hmm!

If that’s the case, I’m going on a deleting spree right before the changes come into effect, haha.

So it will tell you who defriended you or just that you’ve been defriended? I don’t get defriended very often, but my sister gets defriended a lot. We grew up in a Baptist church and when our old friends realize she’s a lesbian (she doesn’t post a lot about herself being a lesbian, but she does take a stand on gay rights) they often delete her.

interesting!  I know they’ve talked about doing that before and supposedly there’s an app that lets you see who defriended you.

Maybe it will help me figure out why my list is always fluctuating by 1 or 2  lol
