I’m pleased to announce that I successfully taught my very first Spinning class. And I didn’t faint (it was seriously an issue though). I was so nervous going into it that my heart rate was zooming before I even got on the bike. Then when I started teaching, all was lost – I looked at my heart rate monitor, and it said 172 beats per minute. Oh my. And no matter what I did, the heart rate wouldn’t go down! I’m hoping the next class won’t be so nerve-wracking. I don’t think I can survive another 40 minutes of my heart beating at 90% of max.
And I start teaching some Pilates next week. I’m so excited! The odds of me passing out during that are much lower Goodbye pudge – hello svelte, sexy wedding dress body!

Good for you! That’s awesome. Its an amazing motivator too. I’m sure it will get easier and you won’t pass out. The clients are nervous too, I get scared of spinning!

Spinning is the BEST!! I wish I could be disciplined enough to teach, but even just taking classes regularly keeps me feeling amazing. Congratulations!

My sister teaches spin classes. Mad respect for you… That is no joke!
Last night we had a kid in the ER who did a spin class the other day and started breaking down the muscles from the damage that it caused. That must have been one tough spin class!

I started spinning last week. I literally almost walked out of class this week I was in so much pain. Going up those hills is not fun!

i used to go to spinning class a lot. You should not be nervous, i am usually so into trying to keep myself from passing out let alone even paying attention to the instructor escept what she says of course..
good for you though. you must be in serious shape…thats so amazing. you inspire me 🙂

That’s awesome. My spinning instructor is super hard core, so I’m impressed. I love taking the classes, but I don’t know how I could get through teaching them!

It’s getting better! Spin class #2 I used a microphone and got my heart rate down a bit. And I just picked up another class so I’ll be teaching twice a week. Not only a great workout, but some extra purse money. I think I’ll use my first paycheck to buy some cute spin shorts
And I love rocking out to my favorite music – and the class really seems to like my “throw back” songs – Good Vibrations (Marky Mark), I’m too Sexy (Right Said Fred) and others!
