My boyfriend and I have been dating for over a year now. We are bothed divorced (I have been divorced longer than him). Neither of us have children and we are both under the age of 30. He is two years younger than me. We are both stable and have great careers. Marriage has been talked about frequently but he will just not committe to anything. With him there always seems to be some excuse…”work is too busy,” or “I don’t want to give you a ring at Christmas time.” His favorite phrase is “it’s one day closer than it has been.” I feel like I am standing stagnate. I love him more than words can say and I want to be with him but I don’t want to wait around forever. I can honestly say that I don’t pester him about the issue…because I would never want to force his hand – but he comments on it all the time. It is almost like he enjoys pushing it in my face just to say “no you can’t have that now.” Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I am suppose to deal with a situation like this.
