I am 24, and I work as an admin for a major utilities company.  I’m contracted for $30,000 for 1 year.  They have a hiring freeze, so they can’t hire anyone permanently.  I’m hoping that in the 6.5 months I have left, the hiring freeze is lifted, but the job I would advance to is highly stressful and only pays $40,000, plus a bonus.

I am 1 class away from a college degree, and it should be completed next summer.  My BA will be in History.  I want to teach so badly, but there are no teaching jobs in California.  I applied to law school, but I only got into a 3rd tier law school, and with so few jobs available to law school grads, I didn’t want to be in a worse situation at the end.

So, now I’m considering going for a Masters in Urban Planning, specializing in transportation.  I’m still weighing my options, but I need to go for a career that is in a growing field and that pays very well, since Fiance is in a field that will not pay very well.

I am a Pediatric nurse and I run my own successful Etsy business so I took both of those into account and I make abouit $30000 a year. I live in CA where the cost of living is ridiculous! We pay $1600 a month for a small one bedroom apartment. UMPH! BUT, I have about 4 years left and then I will be a licensed social worker where I will make about $60000 a year! Woohoo

My income alone and not adding in my child support I am around $25k and that’s as a Customer Service Rep for Federal Cobra/FSA accounts. I’m 29yo. And that’s actually decent money around here.

I’m 26 and a CPA with a Bachlors and Masters in Accounting and make 50k per year not including bonuses.  That’s actually kind of low for my field but I live in a EXTREMLY low cost area of the country so it works.  Only paid 139k for my 3 bed 2 bath 10 year old home, so I do take that into account.

When I was fully employed (prior to preparing to move and get married!) I think I made about $34,000, a combination of a 20-hour a week job plus 5-10 hours of self-employment. Not bad! (I’d take that over twice as big a salary for twice as many hours–about what Fiance does!)

I always knew I didn’t make much money, but this really makes me feel that way! I make 31k. I’m 24 and work in college admissions, while living right in the Twin Cities. Somehow I manage to afford rent and above the minimum balence for my student loans and still have money to go out and buy the occasional (on sale) pair of shoes. I do about 3 weeks of vacation and paid holidays so that’s nice, but do have to work some nights and weekends too.

Before I was laid off I was making $55K as an analytical chemist, which is on the low end.  I have a bachelors and 6 years applicable industry experience.

I voted, but I guess I forgot to comment!

I’m 23 and I’m an analyst for CA Prison Health Care Services. I make about $43k a year, but of course, I don’t see all of that money! The feds LOVE single people lol – hopefully that will change after the wedding. I graduated college last year and had to take a job as a secretary that paid about $32k..so I’m glad I’m finally making degree-worthy money lol. In CA, the cost of living is so freakin high that even if you do make a decent salary, you can still be struggling 🙁

I’m 27, an exec admin at an entertainment company in SoCal and make about $43k a year. There are different levels of exec admins at my company based upon your supervisors rank. The higher ranking your supervisor, the higher your level and the more you make. I’m kind of in the middle. In comparison to admin positions at my old job, I am underpaid.
