@gingerkitten: oh lord, no! I am someone that ALWAYS has a full face of makeup on and my hair done when we’re out of the house or seeing other people. But I work from home, so if someone were to stop over in the middle of the day, I’d most likely be in sweats and a bare face with messy hair.

@gingerkitten: LOL! We are exactly the same way! I put on PJs and DH strips down to boxers. Ahh, married life. LOL!

Is my apartment usually pretty presentable? Yup! Good enough to have close family / friends over with no/short notice. If my INLAWS were just dropping by because they were around the corner? Oh no way is my standard house cleaning level good enough! Future Mother-In-Law is a Stay-At-Home Wife and she is always saying when we come over ‘ it looks clean but don’t take a white glove to the furniture’. Yeah mom, we would definitely do that.
Eta: I definitely misread this entire post. I usually wear normal clothes until bed on weekdays unless it has been one of ‘those’ weeks. Sometimes I’ll put sweats on but I still feel presentable enough. FH wear his fancy smancy work clothes and dress pants all night as well.

I’m out of my work clothes the second I walk in the door most days. Usually because I’m afraid of staining them while cooking dinner, but also because real pants suck. If I’m staying in I’m wearing yoga pants. And the house is usually a mess. My kitchen is a joke so I wind up doing half my prep work on our dinner table or on the coffee table. So as long as the guest doesn’t mind me looking like I’m going the the gym and sitting at a table with some chopped up onions I’m fine. And really, those are the guests I like best anyway.

I guess that’s in the eye of the beholder. I don’t like being seen, stepping outside to get the mail, or going to the grocery store unless I am wearing “real” clothes. It drives fi nuts when he wants to run to the store at 9pm to pick up some ice cream and I make him wait until I put jeans and a bra on. I’m not the type who can’t leave the house without makeup, but for me, clothes are a deal breaker.
Am I still going to answer the door in my pjs? Yeah, but I’ll be incredibly uncomfortable the whole time. Maybe I need to keep my clothes on, lol

I usually change into pajamas around 8:30/9:00 but keep my makeup on until I am actually getting in bed. So if someone came by unexpectedly, I could be presentable in less than a minute.

I was never that way. I wear jeans and a t-shirt daily and sweats when I get home, PJs are just like swears but with cool patterns 🙂 but I grew up having sports every morning before school and afternoon after school. Sweats were easy to wear athletic shorts under and not have to carry an extra bag. My mom was a farm girl and never could afford clothes so she wore her older brother’s hand me downs. So I guess she never cared so I never really cared (also only have a brother)

I normally change into pyjamas the second I get home from work. If people don’t like that, tough. My house isn’t dirty but there is a bit of clutter here and there that can easily be removed if necessary.

The first thing I do when I get home from work is put on PJs! Same with DH. If certain people dropped by unannounced I wouldn’t care (family, certain friends). Other people I might put real clothes on for haha
