I honestly dont mean to be snarky or rude and I know there is freedom of expression and all that but this is the 3rd day in a row of circumcision posts. Is there anyway we can just agree to disagree and move on? those that want to circumcize are free to do so and those that dont want to are free not to. I dont get the constant back and forth about it.

I dont see how the video makes a difference. Would you refuse to have a baby after watching a video of childbirth? Just like childbirth, the process is painful but so far the human race hasnt become extinct just because people watched a horrific birth video. A similar principle applies to any surgery, elective or otherwise. The actual process of it is never fun and giggles but people still choose to do it because of the end result.

havent seen the video, but had it done in our home as a bris, and it took seconds and is far less tramatic than how it is done in the hospital.

EW! I was already anti-circumcision but watching that video sealed the deal. Who on earth would voluntarily put their sweet innocent baby through an unnecessary surgery like that?

I’ve seen a video before, but just watched this one and honestly I nearly bought up my dinner. I would never have this procedure done on my infant! If they need circumsision later in life due to problems then that is a different story.

I will have my son circumcised whenever the time comes for me to have children. For me it’s just normal. The baby will never remember it, and the pain is gone so quickly

@bells: SO AGREE. (And actually, it was a video of a live birth with an episiotomy that scared me off of having sex when I was a teenager because I was terrified of getting pregnant after that. lol)

I feel like this is the return of “Strippertober”. We’re beating the dead horse at this point. Like I tell my husband when he gets on his soapbox about something, we’re going to have to agree to disagree and leave it at that. I respect your opinion and your passion about the subject, abbyful, but I think that we need to let it rest.

@abbyful: Whatever, dude. All I did was agree with bells, and I feel like I was polite about it. This is like the 3rd thread this week where you’ve made some kind of snappy comment to me. I’m out. I don’t feel the need to argue with people on the internet. It’s pointless.

My mom (who is from the UK) saw her first ever circumcision in the US when she was doing her nurse training and was horrified. However, the other nurses didn’t seem to care so much watching it have just grown up with circumcision as being ‘normal’ so I think become desensitised to it. Ultimately it seems to be mostly cultural as to whether or not people are comfortable with the idea, but I think it’s a great idea that parents would want to educate themselves on what the procedure involves BEFORE they make a decision – surely that’s what anyone would do before electing to do something to their baby which isn’t necessary right?  So, thanks, OP, for the links!

I’m not even sure myself, so I’m really just curious, but OP, is posting a video like this (I haven’t watched it,) any different than if someone came on and posted a graphic abortion video? I think that would be clearly innappropriate on this website. Is this?
