I love the story of how you met!  That’s so random and neat.  Mine’s boring… we met at work.

I’ve had people insist that I tell other people (like strangers) the story just because it seems so odd.

I had a spare ticket to see my favorite band, Radiohead, and didn’t want to take just anyone – I wanted a true fan to go with, guy or girl it didn’t matter.  So I did what any normal girl would do, and put an ad on Craigslist looking for someone who truly loved the band and wanted to see the show in Cleveland.

About 50 people responded.  I picked a couple ‘winners’ and assembled my girlfriends to conduct hardcore interviews at an Irish pub to make sure these people weren’t total weirdos.  I found one I really liked, Ben, he was insanely cute and fun and decided to give the ticket to him.

Four days later, MJ emails me about the ticket, and he was good.  I mean, real good. Like, oh man, I can’t believe he exists good.  So I had to meet him too.  Assembled the girls, interviewed, told him he could have the ticket if he’d tell the other guy he couldn’t go.  He was up to the task but I didn’t make him do it.  πŸ˜‰

He asked me on a date a few days later.  Then again, and again, and again, then we saw the concert a few weeks after.  Standing there with him, listening to this unbelievable band play heart-wrenchingly beautiful songs, I knew.  This was my penguin, the perfect compliment.  We bought a house and got engaged and now we’re getting married almost 4 years after meeting.  I’m walking down the aisle to Radiohead, and we’ve invited the band… but not exactly holding our breath on that one.  πŸ™‚

Aw these are great stories!!

My step-mother knows a lady who also met her husband in Vegas, at a bachelor party. Only it was HIS bachelor party. The lady stole the guy from his Fiance, days before his wedding!

My boyfriend and I met online. We are both really big into video games and were on a website that allowed to put a face to the gamer. Anyhow! I was out boating with my family all day and had left AIM open. I came home to a message from this guy.. I didn’t really want to respond to him but I suddenly recognized his face from the website and thought he was super cute! So I responded. We talked all day and night.. finally got the courage to call eachother. The moment I knew I liked him was when I had to go with my family to a different state because my grandma was in the hospital. He stayed up all night with me talking and making sure my family and I were ok. It was not something I was used to! We talked the whole time and found out we have a LOT in common. We eventually got together, confessed our love, and the rest is history. πŸ™‚

Meeting my SO in a bar/club sounds very common, except I always said that would be the last place I’d ever meet someone special and both my SO and me both really, really hated (and continue to hate) clubbing.

My Fiance was actually the boy next door…. in my apartment building! I moved to Milwaukee from Ohio, basically knowing no one, and about three weeks after I moved here, I got to know my neighbors and on the first night we really spent talking to one another, my now-FI hit it off amazingly. I always knew it’s usually a bad idea to date someone who lives in such close quarters (I mean, we shared a wall!), but in this case, I knew it was something incredibly special. Now I actually get to say I’m really marrying the boy next door! πŸ™‚

My Fiance and I met through my bestie, sort of. they went to high school together, she and i had known each other since we were two. just after we all finished high school, he saw me on her list of contacts, then added me on msn. we chatted for ages, then one day met up after he finished TAFE, we met outside a lolly shop. we were both really shy, so didn’t talk much. we were just friends for ages, he introduced me to my second boyfriend (my first boyfriend and I broke up just before i met FI). Fiance and I finally started talking at my ex’s (the one who he introduced me to) 18th. we had a lot to drink, and were comparing break up stories, etc lol. he knocked my drink out of my hand, and stepped on a (NOT empty) packet of Tim Tams. so i chased him around the yard. after that we talked a lot more, and one day, he suggested we become friends with benefits..(not all the way though) after nearly two months, i realised i really liked him, and asked him out. he said yes, and we have been together ever since πŸ™‚

I decided to accept an invite to some guy’s cottage on the May 2-4 long weekend and came up a day later than everyone else….and brought a guy (friend) with me, haha.  My now-FI barfed on my tent that same evening.

Oh, the romance!

I added him to FB a couple weeks later to tag him in some photos and he thought I was interested so he asked me out.  We went out, he was super persistent, we spent every day that summer together and that was the end of that!

@AirForceWife78:  LOL, I didn’t even know about it until he told me later on.  So gross, but funny!

He’s not my Fiance *yet*, but we’re both from FL and went to china in 2007 with a choir and met on a dragon boat by the summer palace in Beijing =) We “talked” for 2 weeks, he asked me out, and we’ve been together ever since! It’s pretty crazy to think we had to travel halfway around the world to find each other when we had lived within minutes of each other all along, but we definitely have a one of a kind story! Another cool thing is we met on my grandparents wedding anniversary who are no longer living, so I feel like they are connected to our relationship through that date!
