Most people I know wanted girls when they were pregnant, actually!

I have a nearly-one year old daughter and if I were to have another baby I would want another girl ๐Ÿ™‚

We wanted a girl. I actually was thinking awesome if a girl, still pretty cool if boy. Husband was way more ‘team girl’. He has 1 brother, all male cousins (and all offspring of those cousins are boys), and 4 nephews. That whole family is a little ‘over’ boys. Only 1 niece that was a little angel. Also he always wanted to have a bunch of daughters and have them come visit their dad, with all their kids and be like, well like his grandpa that had a lot of daughters. We started too late to have a bunch of kids though.

Daizy914:  That is one of the least stupid posts I’ve seen. Beautiful and good luck. Also if you have a girl depending on the name you could make a cool girl version for the middle as an option.

I know that once I’m pregnant, I’ll won’t care, but until then – I’ve always wanted boys (DH wants a girl, though). Considering that fact that we have yet to find a girl’s name we can agree on, I’m sure we’ll have all girls.

For me, the desire to have a boy first comes less from the older brother concept (I had a friend who had AWFUl older brothers) and more the experience of being the eldest and a girl. In my experience, and from talking to many people in the same position, I think being a first-born girl is very different from being a first-born boy, and I think it’s easier for boys. That said, it’s just my perspective, not based on anything scientific.

I’ve noticed that men generally want boys, and women want boys to make their husbands happy. But if it was just for themselves, I think most women want girls ๐Ÿ˜›

We kind of thought we would have a boy first but I honestly did not care either way. We were really excited when we found out we were having a girl! Dear Daughter is now 1 and we’re trying to decide when to TTC #2. Again, I’d be thrilled either way. I’d love to have a son but another girl would be super fun also.

When I was pregnant I was torn. I loved having a older brothers and liked the idea of having a boy first. However, both my side and DH’s side had lots of grandsons and no granddaughters. Darling Husband really wanted to give his mom her first granddaughter. I was the only one pulling for a boy. By the time we went for the anatomy scan, I still liked the idea of having a boy first, but the thought of giving everyone else what they wanted was stronger. We ended up having a girl and I am so in love with her I couldn’t imagine anything else.

Haha I SO want a boy…actually boys.  I would love a house with 2 or 3 boys….which means the universe will probably give me girls!

My sister in law is having twin boys and I’m so jealous!  She really wants girls though but I know in the end – she won’t care.  That’s usually how it works lol

Girls, but that’s because the strongest people in my family are women, I want that line to keep on keeping on. Living up to it would also be nice

I am hoping for a girl first, Darling Husband wants a boy first. We both want to have one of each, though. That being said, we are not finding out the sex of the baby during my pregnancy, so I can’t wait for the moment when baby comes and we hear “it’s a boy” or “it’s a girl”!

hollyberry4:  I dont really care, so long as they are happy and healthy. But I’d prefer a girl first. Because my SO wants us to have 2 (which I’m fine with) and I neither want a boy then girl or 2 boys (because I would really like one of each, ideally). I was a girl with older brother and he was incredibly physical with me growing up. I wouldn’t want a daughter of mine to go thro that.

That’s funny, my Fiance and I were talking about this last night. We would both like to have a little boy first, but we wouldn’t be disappointed by having a girl… if that makes sense?

I guess it is the older brother protector vision is a part of the reasoning. I had an older brother and my Fiance is the older brother. In a perfect world we would have 2 boys and a girl. We shall see.

I personally would LOVE to have a little boy first. My Fiance and I have already decided that if we did, we love the name “Logan Arnold” (first and middle names). I would personally keep the gender of my baby a surprise until he/she is born and even if I don’t have a little boy, I would be happy with a little girl. So long as they are healthy! But secretly, yes I would prefer a baby boy ๐Ÿ™‚
