So do you believe there are others out there? According to the Drake equation, I can’t see how there cannot be life. As to if we’ve been visited, however, opinions are divided. I’m not certain but the thousands of worldwide accounts of abductions and sightings make it hard to discredit.
And then there’s the Ancient Aliens series on the History Channel which I admit seems like a bunch of pseudoscience but a few valid and interesting points are raised in the series that really make you wonder.
So Bees, do you believe? Have you been visited? Have you ever witnessed anything? Do you know of anyone who has? And if you believe they exist, do you believe they are benovolent or malovelent creatures with regards to humanity and Earth?
To those who are religious/Christian, how do you think extraterrestrial life would co-exist with your beliefs and teachings? Do your teachings contradict the possbility
P.S. To anyone interested, you can read about the Dyatlov Pass Incident and the Fredrich Valentich disappearance. They may not be alien-related but they do pose some interesting questions and are pretty hard to find rational explanations for. Also look into some of the points raised by Ancient Aliens. It will get you thinking, if nothing else.

I believe, but I don’t think aliens are here to hurt humans or anything. It just seems obscene and a bit selfish to think we’re the only living beings in space.

I think if there is life on planet earth then it is logical that there would be life on other planets. I don’t think it is aliens like you see in movies but life forms. That could also include life forms that we don’t recognise or understand so it would be hard to say if they are intelligent or not.

Yes, I think that there is probably life elsewhere. I haven’t experienced anything to make me believe that but I wouldn’t be shocked to find out there were ‘aliens’ on another planet.
I actually thought the other day how cool it would be to find out the MIB was real and aliens lived on earth and we just didn’t know who was human or not.

@srslovebug: Exactly. I think it’s extremely conceited and deluded to think we’re the only ones out here in this vastness. I mean, we’re talking about trillions upon trillions upon trillions of planets here. We just can’t be the only ones.

@Arshim: In this whole galaxy, I think it would be crazy to think that we are the only life forms. However, I do not believe in the Hollywood little green alien version who want to eat our brains.

@Arshim: I think that there is most likely life out there, but I am skeptical when I hear people saying they were abducted by aliens. In the grand scheme of the universe, I don’t think earth is really that important lol. Like we’re just one little planet.
So yeah… aliens could be out there… maybe there’s intelligent life… but they could easily be light years away.
I think it’s silly to say NO there’s not aliens out there because we just don’t know. I don’t see why it’s such a far fetched concept for some people. I would be surprised if alien life visited earth, though.

@Arshim: my opinion is, the universe (all of them) are so vast, we could never truly presume to know what is in all of them. the likelihood of there being another planet like earth is incredibly high, and so i always speculate that there is probably intelligent life on another planet. whether they will ever find us, or us them, who knows. but biologically, i think its plausible.

I think of extraterrestrial life the way I think about most religious stuff…ultimately at this time unproveable, but possible. So who knows? I think it’s arrogant to absolutely “KNOW” something without scientific proof in general though, perhaps owing to the fact that I’m a very literal person.

I think it would be very closed minded to think that we could possibly be the only life in the entire universe.

I don’t think we’ve ever reached the point where our planet has been visited by them, but logic tells me that in the infinite universe, we’re not the only planet with life.
I actually look at the way I view ‘aliens’ as the way other people must see God. I have no proof that ‘aliens’ exist, yet I 100% believe that they are out there because my logic tells me so.

I am not sure how to answer this question, since there are so many factors; but in general, yes I believe there was/is/will be other life out there. Whether or not that lifeform is carbon based (as it is on our planet) is debatable. I do not think that there is a planet exactly like earth (same yellow sun, same large satellite, etc), however I’m sure there are a myriad of planets that have similar properties (water, oxygen, etc). I think a major problem with discovering life, or intelligent beings, is time and distance. The universe is so infinitely vast and we, as a species, are incredibly short lived in comparison, that we may not exist/have existed when those organisms were present.

I love this kind of stuff.
Like others have said, I absolutely believe that we are not alone. The universe is HUGE and we haven’t explored very much of it–we don’t even know everything about our own galaxy!
There are a lot of unexplained things out there. I know quite a few of them are hoaxes, but there are a lot of things that we can’t explain.

Yup. I refuse to believe that humans are the “most intelligent life forms” to exist. Yikes.

It’s hard to justify the premise that we are the only planet in an infinite universe that has sustained some form of life. But, no I don’t believe we have been “visited.”
