No, I never have.  It always just seemed kind of ludicrous to me, and now I’m a scientist, so I need evidence in order to believe something.  God may have presented Himself to some people with clear and fast evidence, but certainly never to me.

I do believe there are a lot of forces in the universe that we don’t understand.  (Obviously! Since 96% of the universe is dark energy and dark matter, and we don’t even have a fathoming of what that is.)  But I doubt that it’s any sort of sentient or conscious force / being.

I was NOT raised in a religious household, we never talked about religion/God and my own personal belief is there PROBABLY is NO God! I can’t say NO for sure though! My DH believes in God and gets made at me when I tell him I am not sure if I believe!

I absolutely believe in God. I have had many experiences in my life that leave little room for doubt of His existence and wonderful grace.

I do however respect those that do not believe, everyone has a right to follow what they think is the truth.

Woodstock:  Well said, I completely agree. My husband and I have discussions about this on a constant basis. He used to think that Christians had such a specific way of approaching science, evolution etc and didn’t realize that there is more to it than just black and white when it comes to science and Christianity.

I haven’t read all of the replies yet! Yes, I believe in God, I am Catholic. I also believe evolution to be true. I believe that God set the universe into motion and helped along evolution….if that makes sense. I absolutely do not think that science and religion have to oppose eachother! I was raised in a semi religious household…my mom’s always been a strong Catholic, my dad is pretty indifferent to the whole thing. Honestly, I don’t know what he believes, haha. I claimed to be “agnostic” until about 2 years ago, actually. I am a nurse, and oddly enough, the more I learned about science/the body, etc….the more I believed there HAS to be a God! I don’t know if I necessarily subscribe to all of the beliefs of the Church (Christ’s resurrection, the Trinity, etc) , because honestly some of them seem a little “out there”…..but I suppose that’s where faith comes in 🙂

I don’t believe in God. My mother brought me up to believe in whatever I wanted to. She was Wiccan. My sister….agnostic, I think. Everyone else in my family (myself included) are atheists.

Ninteenthchance:  Good morning! My answer is Yes I believe in God, and for many reasons. I grew up and being really young my mom always had a love for God and as for my dad I really don’t know what he believed in. As I grew up my mom started studying the Bible and she really took a keen interest in the Bible. And later my dad.. For me and my brother even though we went and took part it was always our personal choice whether we were going to serve God or not. It ws their responsibility to teach us but our decision in the end.

But what stood out to me was how fancsinating the Bible is it logical and realistic. The prophecies are amazing. To see how they came true in Biblical history as well as history we learn about in school. I am a visual learner, I don’t find a lot of joy in reading books or studying, it’s work for me to stay focused, so for me it huge when I Actually found something I will actually take time to read, study and learn about. I speak to Many ppl who have a lot of Different interpertions of the scriptures that seem far fetched where I can understand wh y ppl do get confused or have so many unanswered questions. The great thing about the Bible is that God made it for us to study to make sure what was written was true. 1 John 4:4-Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement, but test the inspired statements to see whether they originate with God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

So blind faith is not a requirement to believe in God actually God wants our faith based on true facts.. Hebrew 11:1- faith is the ASSURED expectation of what is hoped for.Our Faith needs a foundation and the only way to do that is by studying his word and by seeing it in your own life not. One scripture I love is Malachi 3:10…test me out, please, in this reguard.” Jehovah of armies says,”to see whether I will not open to you the floodgates of the heavens and pour out on you a blessing until there is nothing lacking.”

He telling us to test him out to see whether his word, his way is right. And in my Personal life I have done so and the words are true. He always is true to his word and his ways. The things written down thousands of years ago and how they have so much relevance today is amazing to me, but the only way to see it is if each and every individul does the work for himself. But its worth it. It’s not a belief that there is a God and hes far away and he just watches us to see if we are being good or bad just so he can judge or punish us, it’s a RELATIONSHIP with the creator of this universe, the one who created us, you and I. In James 4:8 it says draw close to him and he will draw close to you. So just like any friendship we have the same goes with God he wants us to see him as our friend and father. Get to know him, His name, his likes and dislike, his stand on matters such as violence, family life, and even treatment of the under privileged…. You will be amazed that the sense of justice many of us have come from him our father, it only makes sense we were created in his image. Genesis 1:26-Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness….”

If you get a chance read and study the book “What Does The Bible Really Teach” it’s amazing and you read it with your own copy of the Bible.. Your can download it for free along with other great Bible based material at JW.org  or get one sent to you right from the website.

I think there is so much more out there in the world, that is inconceivable to the human mind.. but im okay with that…. most people arent.
