It depends on the profits for the year. This year, it was $650 for me, but last year, it was around $350. My husband’s is much higher because he works for a massive corporation, but his bonus doesn’t come until like February because it’s calculated for the business year, so they need time to tally December sales.

I’m a nanny, so families usually do give cash to me around the holidays. I don’t expect it, but typically it is about a week’s worth of salary on top of what I’m already making that week.

Yes, $850 this year and a $100 visa gift card at our Christmas party 😉

I got $75 this year. And a 1.5% raise. Whoo hoo. Aftee busting my ass for 5 years at this place, working late nights and weekends. What makes it worse though, is when going through some financials for the office, I found one of the Dr’s who own the practice took a $160k bonus last year. There’s 5 doctors. And each employee got a measly $75? Pretty crappy.

@lolot: I don’t. But my fiancé does.

I don’t..but this year DH’s company gave them a couple of options for Christmas presents in addition to quarterly bonuses. He opted for the 46″ LED TV..not too shabby

I got a 4 digit bonus plus the week of Christmas off and paid.
I don’t work for a company or anything but my bosses are just really generous and loving people!

We get ‘presents’, not bonuses. One year that was jackets, the last two years $50 amazon cards.
It’s a nice gesture!
…but i’m pretty jelly of some of you now!

@bkrocks13: 60% bonus plus a hefty raise?!?! OMG I’m going to purposely forget right this second that that even exists.
@krex: Wow, that’s super crappy. How greedy and selfish 🙁
@Baimee: right?! I’m not complaining, my company is quite generous. But I see these 20%+ of salary bonuses or 30% raises and I’m like WTF, why did I ask?!? Haha.

I don’t because I don’t work anymore. Darling Husband does, he got $1000 this year. He also gets 2 weeks off for Christmas.

@lolot: he works in corporate-level finance. A 40-60% bonus and steadily increasing salary is pretty standard for the industry- he’s a bit on the higher end for his desk (he thinks) but nothing astronomical. There are def. people who make way more than him on other desks. Plus the bonus is taxed at an incredibly high rate so after taxes and 401k contribution he only keeps about 40% of the bonus. Last year he used it to buy my e-ring, this year it’s paying off the rest of the wedding!

No Christmas treat for me, but like some PPs have mentioned, we get a significant performance-based bonus every March. Last year mine was 25% of my salary, but the company did really well this year, so I’m hoping for 30 – 35% this year. My old boss used to buy us Christmas gifts out of her own pocket and she was very generous (one year she got all 8 of us Patagonia jackets!). However, I got promoted three years ago and my new boss gives us nothing, which made me sad until I got my first bonus from him.

I received my Christmas bonus yesterday, and was very shocked- I received $4,000 cash! I work for a family owned roofing contractor, and am their office manager. The first Christmas there I received $500, last year $1,000. It’s weird, but I feel kind of bad them giving me so much money, even though I have been a good employee for almost 3 years.

Nope! But I do get a paid month off of work. I rather have that anyway!

We get an annual bonus company wide at the end of january each year. It’s a percentage of your cummulative pay for the past 5 years. The percentage varies based on what the company made in the previous year but it averages around 4%. Last year my after tax bonus was a little over $3,000. I’ve only been with the company a few years. I can’t wait for that 5 year bonus… and yes, my company is hiring if you live in Mass 🙂 My bonus this year is going straight to the wedding…
