and I can’t believe I read this much of it :/ And that it took me until here:
“You’re missing out. I am like Martha Stewart, Mrs. Cleaver, Rachel Maddow, and Michelle Obama all rolled up in one. Plus, I can teach you to sew, dance and speak spanish for a slight up charge.”
…to realize that Obvious Troll is obvious. She’s just having dumbass inflammatory internet fun.
DON’T FEED THE TROLLS ladies!

I don’t but for those ladies that do, make sure you treat them well.

We currently live in a small apartment and DH thinks cleaning relaxes him and he does a great job, so we don’t. But if we had a larger house, or he got sick of doing it we’d probably hire a cleaner. Our time off together is just so sparse that we don’t like to waste it on cleaning.

WOW! This sounds fantastic! I’m going to have to give it a go!

Wow, I am actually incredibly surprised so many people having people come to clean for them! I had always assumed that was something only royalty or movie stars had. How much money are these people making who have cleaning staff?

@BriansBride: How much money are these people making who have cleaning staff?
Probably best off starting a new thread if you are seeking answers to that question. My friends with cleaners probably started when they made over $150K in household income, but that’s just a guess – I don’t know their actual incomes even now. My sister did it when she lived in SD (cheap labor nearby) they made maybe $100K in household income? (Again, just a guess.)

Nope. Our house isn’t big enough to need a cleaning lady, and it’s just Mr.Malefic and myself so we split cleaning 50/50.

Most people don’t have “cleaning staff”. Usually it’s one person who comes for a few hours on an interval (like every week, every 2 weeks, every month, etc). Depending on the size of your home, a cleaning person isn’t really all that expensive. I guess it just comes down to disposable income and priorities.

Yes. Me. LOL. I would love to have someone come every other week if we could afford it though, just to help with upkeep and the deeper cleaning.

No way. i’d be embarrased having someone come into my house and scrub the toilets (the hubs and kiddo miss) or do my laundry.. Seriously having someone touch my thongs is not something I’d be comfortable with. I say pick up a bit everyday and by the end of the week it won’t be a mess that will need a cleaning lady.

No, but, dang, it’s at the top of my wishlist.

I don’t think many people have “cleaning staff”, rather just one person who comes every couple of weeks (or whatever). Our cleaning lady comes every 2 weeks for about 6 hours each time. We pay her about 80$ a visit. Hence, it’s just an expense of 160$/month – which is a very managable expense for us.

Oh how I wished for Santa to bring me that for X-Mass, but no he didn’t! lol…so I still wish I had one, at least just once a month

No, I’m her. Unless I someday live in a rediculously huge house and have tons of children/no time, I don’t see myself being very comfortable having someone else clean my home. I take pride in doing it myself & actually enjoy it.
