I haven’t lived in a haunted house (although an old woman living alone was murdered in my childhood home, about 50 years before I lived there) (she must have been quite sweet, if she was still “there”), but I did walk into a home I swear was inhabited by a very angry, evil energy.  I was immediately disoriented and had trouble keeping my balance and I felt as if I was being pushed out of the house.  The pressure I felt in my body was powerful and I felt like I was being glared at.  I got out of there as fast as I could.  The person I toured the house with later told me that the previous owner had been a heavy drug addict (meth or heroin).  It was a huge, sprawling house and he would start tearing down walls and leave them unfinished while he started in on another addition, so to me it was like the house was under stress.  It was a weird, weird experience.

I hope I don’t live in a hunted house, but when we moved in to our (basement) apartment we found some creepy writing on the wall (about killing dozens of women) and chains bolted into the ciling of the cold storage. Hopefully they are the result of a child’s prank and some old food storage practices. I’ll keep a look out for gusts just in case 🙂

I don’t believe in ghosts at all, but my husband used to do hockey when he was a teenager and he swears up and down to this day that the old hockey rink they pracised at was haunted or cursed or someting (It was a very old building, I think it used to be a saw mill that was converted in to an ice rink in recent years). He’s Christian and believes there were evil spirits living there. He always felt a bad energy in there, and often felt watched if he stayed later than his teammates. He even has a story where a demon/ghost threw a box at him. Personally I find it humerous and I think there are tons of other explanations, but he’s convinved it really happened.

Well, it wasn’t a haunted house. But my one weird encounter was when my uncle had just died. We were in the funeral home. My cousin and I (we were 15) were sitting away from the people because were just kind of sad. And we were discussing life after death.

My cousin goes, “If there is a life after death, Uncle Tom, give us a sign!!” Suddenly there was a LOUD crashing BOOM. We freaked out and ran to where our parents were. Never figured out what it was. It could’ve been a coincidence, but that was really weird at the time.

My grandparents bought a house that had just been built on that property because the previous house had a murder in it.  My sister who is very sensitive to “the other side” has felt the presence of spirits there before.  She has also experienced things in other houses we’ve lived in, but she thinks it’s our grandmother, who follows us.  She says it’s not even scary, she can just feel her around and it’s actually comforting.

Right here!  Living in a haunted house…well a house filled with haunted things if the experts are to be believed….paintings fall off walls, doors slam, the stove turns on at a whim and a man whispers my name in the kitchen…there’s a world parallel to ours, your crazy if you think they don’t intercede at certain points on this earth.

My parents’ house is haunted. I have lots of stories. Growing up there, we all had heard footsteps in the hallway at night or when home alone. My mother told me that when I was very young, I used to talk to the “lady” who would show up in my room. My grandmother is very religious and gave me a icon of a saint for christmas one year. I’m not very religious, but the icon was handcrafted and beautifully painted, as well as being sentimental, so I displayed it in the recessed shelves of my bedroom. When I was a teenager, I was sitting cross legged on floor when my icon flew off the shelf and smashed into the floor. I tried to rationalized that it had simply slipped, but the icon was forcefully knocked off the shelf, as if it was swatted at. Later, at my prom, my whole family was outside in the front yard taking pictures of my prom date and I. Once we got the pictures developed, you can clearly see the outline of a woman standing in the living room window behind us, but the features are blurry. And finally, my mother has a friend who is sensitive to these types of things and she spent a very recent afternoon visiting with my mom. As she was leaving, she thanked my mom for the visit and said “by the way, are you aware that you have a female spirit living here?” my mom just said “yup, we know.” We sort of discussed it and shared our stories among ourselves but that was the first time someone else also picked up on it. We figure, it’s her house as much as it is my parents’ and she wanted to cause any harm, she has had 27 years to do so.

We have a ghost in our (very old) house. And my husband thought I was crazy until one night he saw it too.

The thing is I don’t feel weird/sad/cold or anything, it’s a very peaceful cohabitant. And I could always tell when it was around because our daughter would point at the ceiling and say “I see a man!” and the cat would start going nuts.

I have never actsully said stood to any one..but in my childhood and growing up I guess i’ve felt everywhere I lived was been haunted. I’ve seen and heard things..like my bed shaking, a grill calling my name.. Awful dreams…Anyone ever think they may just be haunted themselves? I most definitely do.

Ive also worked in a hotel that is known to be haunted.. I hate being there late at night, awful things happen…
