I was really mad at my parents when I found out they lied to me about Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the tooth fairy. I do not plan to tell my kids they are real.

We have always told our kids that Santa is not real.  We really value honesty and felt like the best way to promote that was to always tell our kids the truth.

Of course. You only get to be a kid once in your life. Then you become an adult. There is all the time in the world to be cynical and not believe in magic. I plan to leave presents from Santa, dollars from the tooth fairy, a trail of Easter eggs from the Easter Bunny, and gold coins in their shoes from Leprechauns on St. Patrick’s Day. If they get mad at me so be it, I was trying to give them a fun childhood, hopefully they won’t be too scarred.

I will tell them about Santa, the Easter Bunny, and Tooth Fairy too. they will also know about religious reasons for holidays as well though, I grew up knowing Christmas was about Jesus but Santa could be part too. I’m willing to play along as long as they believe and even after that. I’m 25 and my mom still pretends there’s a Santa and I play along. It keeps you young at heart 🙂

My son still believes in Santa… This may be the last year though he just turned 7 a few days ago. I love the traditions my son and I share like writing Santa a letter, putting out cookies, leaving the tree on for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. I love how his eyes light up in the morning too. It’s really the only reason we celebrate Christmas because both my Fiance and I are not big fans- once he finds out the truth we’ll scale back celebrating a ton.

I believed in Santa as a kid and I’m so glad I did, it was so much fun. Besides- the young kids who know the truth ruin it for all the other kids by telling everyone that Santa isn’ real, which was much more disappointing as a kid than when my parents finally told me.

I’m not sure I’ll “tell” them specifically anything- more that I’ll imply it, let them believe, and when they finally ask me directly I’ll tell them the truth.
